Remarks
This college has a good curriculum , decent faculty , amazing infrastructure etc. and to balance these things it is obviously expensive.
Course Curriculum Overview
They have curriculum approved by UGC which is quite relevant with the course opted. Moreover, they have additional subjects to shape the personality of the student. Furthermore , they have all required laboratories with modern equipments which can help in practically understanding the subject till it's depth.
Placement Experience
I am in 3rd year currently , so I haven't availed placement yet but as our seniors say the placements here (specifically for my course) are amazing. Last year , a student from our course got placed in Amazon with 25 lakhs per annum package.
College Events
The most awaited event is Youth Fest where they invite celebrities and it lasts till night. Youth Festival is an annual fest which has various events like Dancing , Singing , Fitness etc. Apart from this , we welcome celebrities throughout the year either for their movie promotion or for interviewing them in our own Radio Station.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee for my course is around 1.6 Lakhs per semester and it increases by 5 percent every year. The fee structure is undoubtedly expensive but on a brighter side it's transparent. It can be paid online. Moreover, no additional fees is charged to secure an admission except a sum of Rs 20000 as security amount which is refundable and quite normal to collect from students.
Fees and Financial Aid
I didn't avail for any loan or scholarship but for students above 90 or 95 percent in 12th board there is a 50 percent scholarship in 1st semester which can be extended if you do well in your upcomming semester.
Campus Life
The gender ratio is balanced as whole. In courses like engineering there are more boys whereas in English courses the scenario is vice-versa. There are hell lot of sports , competitions in our college like Basketball , Cricket , Swimming , Shooting etc. and music groups, dance groups etc. They audition time to time and you can be the part of anything.
Hostel Facilities
I opted for hostel in my first year but it was fully occupied that time. The charge for AC hostel was Rs 1.6 Lakh per annum and for Non-AC was Rs 80000 (Food not included). I had to stay in PG in my first year which proved to be a nice option but again a bit expensive. There are PG's near Gate 2 of Amity and rooms there range from Rs 5000 to Rs 20000. I stayed in a decent PG with monthly rent Rs 14000 (payable in 2-3 installments). Food and laundry was included but electricity bill was on me.
Alumni/Alumna
This college has the best seniors. They are very friendly and easy to talk to. Since , ragging is banned here they can not be bossy with you and will act very friendly.
Admission
I opted to study in Amity University because I couldn't clear JEE and I wanted a decent college with decent placements. Furthermore , the lush green campus attracted me a lot and I wanted to be here for 4 years. Moving on to admission procedure, students with percentage above 80 in their 12th boards can get direct admission whereas for others there is an entrance test which is easy to crack in. By the way , I had 82 percent in 12th CBSE so I got directly admitted.
Faculty
If you talk about the faculty , they faculty here is quite mixed. Some would have journals and research papers written under their name and are IIT graduates whereas some are doing PHD in Amity University and teaching graduates as part-time. We have classes from Monday to Friday typically from 9 am to 5 pm which includes a lunch break of 1 hour or 2.
