Entrance Preview

I took Karnataka CET and got this college based on my rank. Dont actually remember my rank.Since this college was in the city vicinity and was one of the best in the state with great scope for computer science had no better option than this.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

College location is fantastic since it is right in the heart of the city, course is fine as per VTU standards, tough and can take a serious toll on the students with the way the exams are planned. In the first year the faculty was top notch ever for a new joiner but as the years went by it kept on deteriorating.

Internships Opportunities

No as long as I was part of the college there was no such program. I wish they could have provided us with the opportunity since a lot of talented people having great vision were left in the corner.

Placement Experience

2

First year about 90% percent students got placed.Second year about 50% got placed. Third year about 20% got placed and finally when I came to the fourth year it had come down to 5% with myself getting a job outside. But now I hear that it is back on track. So that is good news.

College Events

3.5

Events were three types: An Annual Fest-well not that big but was a inter-dept fest with huge number of people turning up to participate since it was about pride. A sports fest-was amazing since i was myself a TT player at the VTU level hence was of great deal to the college. A tech fest-intra college based on invitation. Was good as long i was there since it was our dept that started it.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee was feasible both for CET and Management students since it was according to the guidelines of the universtiy.

Fees and Financial Aid

I dont think that our college provides any kind of loan or scholarship based studies. May be if they offered that many more candidates with better academic records would have arrived.

Campus Life

2.5

Campus Life was fine when i compare with other campuses in and around the city.Too many rules can sometimes dampen the mood of the student studying.Gender ratio was good with i guess for every 50 guys there would be around 20-23 girls which is a good number overall. Extracurricular activities were at an average level since most of the time we would be stuck with our Academics. Many robotics events were held in the college with many a times our time used to win them and the same goes for the debate competetions held.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel was fun and great with students from all over. Food was pathetic. Never had such an experience with food my entire life so ya it was pathetic.

Alumni/Alumna

Not much. At least for the students who passed out last year did not have any alumni meet(even-though we paid them for the same.) so to be precise the alumni network is bad. Seniors were great to learn from and hang out with since there was no ragging cases at all in the college.

Exam Structure

Hectic! I mean five days of full days and then a Saturday which should be a half day but as required would be made into a full day. Exam structure was as per VTU rules so objection there but the curriculum overall was very tiring with every student counting his/her days during engineering.

Placement Experience:

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
