Entrance Preview

I choose Christ because it was one of the best for hotel management in Bangalore. I first took a written general entrance exam, after which I was shortlisted for an interview with the Head of Department and some other faculty members.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course was great. First 3 years general and the fourth we specialised. We had a lot of practical classes, which took up about 50 - 60 % of our time so that made it very interesting.

Internships Opportunities

All the top 5 star hotel chains came including Taj, Oberoi, Park and ITC hotels. I trained for 6 months in the Oberoi bangalore and got Rs. 800 pm as stipend.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements are from the same companies as that came for internships. The placement is almost 100%. Although it is a long interview process with at least 3 rounds. The interview process was quite stressful because of the nature of the industry but we were all prepped well by out teachers.

College Events

3.5

We have a lot of culinary festivals and cooking and beverage competitions which was a great way to test skills. We even had a festival where we had to do a restaurant set up for the whole college and first 3 winners took away prizes. We used to often have tuck shops and things where we could take home the proceeds which was very motivating.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees was a little more than affordable. 40 thousand for a year. And on top of that we needed to invest in uniforms, books, equipment and such, which came up to 20 thousand for the whole course. So among other courses it was expensive but totally worth it.

Campus Life

3

The gender ratio in our class was 1 girls: 4 boys but that is very common for hotel management. There were a lot of inter college tournaments and activities for sports and other cultural events. It was great fun and gave everyone an opportunity to showcase their talent in fields they really love.

Exam Structure

Exams are every 3 months with monthly CIA's which are like projects. The days were quite hectic but it was fun as the course was very diverse and entertaining in a lot of ways. The practical exams were very tough and strict while the written were quite easy and a lot of it was objective. There was a lot of learning happening and new things all the time.

Admission

I got the form by going to the college and buying it. Submitted it and then was given a date for the written entrance exam. After which a date was given of the results and slot for the next interview round for the shortlisted candidates. The interview was more like a discussion and was quite simple to be honest.

Faculty

4

Faculty was very proactive and in line with current industry trends. Everyone in our faculty had solid experience in the hotel industry so they could give us first hand knowledge and train us well. The best part is they had a lot of contacts in the industry which really helped.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement comes to the college in the middle of the fifth semester and students are eligible to apply for the companies visiting. There are several companies of Hospitality as well as retail-like Aditya Birla Fashion Group, Absolute barbecue, Starbucks, Marriott International, The Leela , The Oberoi and the companies offer as per their requirements. In my college, there was 100% placement pre-covid. The college is trying to bring as many companies as possible for placements even in this pandemic and students are still being paced with the reasonable package.
