Remarks

Hindu College is one of the top colleges in DU because of it's quality education, societies, placements which it had improved year and year and is excelling every day in every field from sports to academics to every corner of societies. The crowd, culture, atmosphere, vibe of learning with Great Professors is just amazing. Hindu College is a dream of many students and that's why it's Cut Offs are expected to be high every year, same happened in 2020 with us. The cutoffs were way high but luckily we got admission into one of the finest College, with a smooth online admission process with online verification and simple procedure, all thanks to the admission committee. There's a lot of new things to learn from, every student is different here, much talented and that's what makes it special. Here you not only get academic knowledge but also learn to socialise with people which builds your overall holistic development.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose to do BA ECONOMICS HONS. because it makes you learn how our economy works and gives you practical insights into the working an economy which I believe is a must for us to know and go deep into it. That's what really motivated to pursue this course. For a class of 150 students, 6-7 faculty members are there which I think is enough for this class size where we are given individual attention for doubts in tutorials. Most of the professors are PhD. qualified here. There are internal exams which makes you revise all the concepts you have studied so far. They are quite easy when you are complete with your preparation.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Hindu College has ABHYAS - THE INTERNSHIP CELL, which brings in many internships for students overall courses from time to time. Abhyas also conducts its Annual Internship Fair where more than 25 companies open up internships for students. Profiles offered under internships are Research, Business and Sales Development, Marketing Intern, Consultant, Digital Branding, Equity Research, Podcast Intern and many more such positions.

Placement Experience

5

Hindu College has its own Placement Cell named "DISHA" where 30+ companies visit every year and mostly 70% of students get placements. Companies visited are EY, Deloitte, Bain & Company, Willis Tower Watson, and many more which hire students for positions such as Research Analyst, Marketing Head, Actuarial Analyst, etc. Highest package of placements gone up to 29 LPA in the year 2020 whereas the average package was around 8 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

I would say, fees in Hindu College is comparatively genuine as compared to other colleges of DU and also keeping in mind the services it provides. There are many scholarships you can apply for and you also get infinite opportunities for a stipend in internships and placements.

Campus Life

4.5

Mecca is the annual fest of Hindu College which is the biggest fest in whole DU. Also, there are other fests for internships, fashion societies. Most of the societies have their individual clubs and social groups and have individual pages on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, websites. They held their frequent competing guides where stipend are also given to the winners and amazing gifts to runner-ups. There's a lot of opportunities for extracurricular activities as well.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
