Remarks

Good faculty, Small class size, Alumni network, Above average placement packages. The admissions usually open in May, after board results are declared. Only 1 cutoff list is released. Clearing cutoff is the first step. After this, there is a written test and interview for all those who score above the cutoff. Interviews are scheduled for the month of June. The cutoff is usually 98+ for the general category and 90+ for Christian students. The test includes 5 general knowledge MCQs and written comprehension and is 1 hour long. The interview questions range from subjects from the class 12 syllabus, hobbies and future goals. 85% weightage is given to 12th board marks. 10% to the interview. 5% to the written test. The interview results are declared by the end of June. Only 25% of the students out of all those interviewed, will finally make it to college. 3-4 students are also waitlisted, in case of people back out or a spot gets vacant. 50% of seats are reserved for Christian students.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course includes 4 papers for every semester. Students must opt for 2 main disciplines which will be constant for all 3 years. They can pick any 2 out of English, Economics, History, Philosophy and Political Science. Apart from these 2, the other 2 papers must be chosen every semester. The choices for these papers are also generally the same. In addition, students must also study English (language) for 2 semesters and a regional language (usually Hindi) for 2 semesters. The faculty is supportive and very accomodating. The small class size and regular tutorials make the class a healthy learning environment. Exams have 2 components. Internal assessment of 25 marks, out of which 5 us for attendance and 20 is up to the professor's discretion. 75 marks are for the University exam which is graded by external professors.

Internships Opportunities

1

The internship opportunity is limited and few. It is better to rely on other sources to land a good internship. Although a lot of companies do come to campus to hire interns, they are mostly startups or student-run organisations.

Placement Experience

4

The placements for BA Program in particular are slightly lower as compared to other courses. Most students from the course opt for higher studies but the few who choose to sit for placements find it hard to land a job. Campus placements start in 5th semester and continue for the entire final year. A student is free to sit for as many companies as they like, as long as they meet the eligibility criteria like CGPA, course, etc. Most companies hire a maximum of 4 students owing to the small population of students at St. Stephen's. The highest package in 2021 was 18LPA and the average package is about 6 LPA-8 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are higher than other Delhi University colleges. It costs about Rs. 40,000 per year for day scholars and Rs. 1,20,000 per year for members in the hostel. There is no scholarship particularly for the fees but might be provided on a case by case basis. In addition to this, there are special scholarships provided by the University and college through the course of the year for students coming from economically weaker sections.

Campus Life

4.5

Life at the campus is slightly isolated from other colleges owing to its strict policy about outsiders entering campus. But the scores of societies and multitude of events make it a holistic place for students at college. 50+ societies are catering to every possible interest from adventure sports and art to policy and finance. The college also has one of the most well-stocked libraries of Delhi University, an artificial rock climbing wall, a gym, multiple lawns, air-conditioned classrooms and a sports complex.

Hostel Facilities

3

There are 6 different hostel buildings spread across campus. 3 are for male members and 3 for females. The total capacity is about 350 students. A sharing room is provided for first and 2nd-year students while a single room is given to third year and masters students. The mess provides 3 meals with every day and tea in the evening. Non-veg is also served 5 days a week. The hostel and mess are not the most luxurious. However, the price makes it affordable for most students as compared to other options like PGs. There is also a 10 pm curfew for female members and a strict policy to take leave from the hostel.

Interview Experience

4.5

There is a written test and an interview for all candidates who clear the cutoff. The written test is 1 hour long and it includes 5 general knowledge MCQs and a short comprehension. The interview mostly sticks to questions from 12th syllabus, career goals and hobbies.

Almost 100% as our course students dont have to do much as getting to this college is enough. Our economics society and placement cell both work so hard to get the best companies here and that is why placements at St, Stephen's are amazing not just of our branch but overall as well.

The courses which are available in our college are termed as sacred. As we all know that in today's world cultural subjects are no longer given importance but our college provides courses on the subjects such as Sahitya, jyotishi and many others. So, the cultural importance of our college is very high.

Positive- Faculty is one of the best in among all colleges of Delhi University. It has the biggest infrastructure in Delhi university. Located in central Delhi which makes it easily accessible to reach Central park, red fort, and many more places in New Delhi. Negative- Annual fest is very poor in our college. Placements are not very good. Lack of sports facilities. Very strict rules and discipline.
