Remarks

The admission process is a little lengthy. Every year in the month of June, forms are released and one can register themselves to be eligible for admission. In the month of July cutoff is released and one could match his/her percentage with the cutoff of different colleges. Fews documents are really important, these are 10th marksheet and 12 marksheet and two passport sized photographs. The admission incharge verified both the marksheets and admission got confirmed after paying the fee.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course because of my keen interest. The cutoff for my department ranges between 94-96% for the general category students. The political science department has the maximum number of facilities. The total strength of my class is 99 students and the faculty :students ratio is 1:9. The teachers are highly qualified, experienced and efficient in teaching. Exams are taken twice a year, and in each semester one unit test is also taken.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

For a political science student who has a keen interest in social service, internships with NGOs is more than important. They can boost your CV, generates a feeling of politeness for the disadvantaged section of society. Some of the internships can be found on internshala.com. It provides several internship opportunities. Some of the famous NGOs are vishalakshmi foundation, mushkurahat foundation, umeed and many more. They mainly offer posts of volunteers or finance managers, content writers and more.

Placement Experience

4

Anyone can sit for the placement from the last semester. One just needs to have a strong CV , ability to convince the interviewer, proficiency in English. Students from political science rarely go for placement. They are more focused towards getting higher education. The top recruiting companies were paytm, bajaj, wipro, snapdeal, myntra. And the best roles offered are in the field of finance and data handling. The highest salary package usually offered is 10 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 3-3.5 LPA. Around 30% of students got placement last year.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for three years is 45,000. DRC provides its students' hostel facility as well. The annual charge of the hospital is 1,20,000 approx. I couldn't get a hostel so have less information about it. College doesn't provide any scholarship on merit but it provides fee concession to the poor and physically disabled students. The annual fee of visually challenged students is 100 only One could apply for the National scholarship portal and can avail of 15,000 per year Apart from this, there are a number of private scholarships such as HDFC scholarship, Pragati scholarship, Colgate and more

Campus Life

4

The annual fest of DRC is Manjari. Every year in February and March, the festival of fests begin. The fest brings with it fun, music, dance, concert. Celebrities like Mankirat aulakh, Guru Randhawa, Badshah, Tulsi Kumar are some of the star performers. There is competition, students from different colleges participate and win cash prizes. Few classrooms are really big, few are small. The campus has a Wi-fi facility as well. Our college has a big sports complex made up of red bricks. It has a gym, sauna bath, jacuzzi bath and a table tennis court also. There are many societies it includes civil service society, Indian and western dance society photography society and many more.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.
