Miranda House, BA, General

Reviewed on Oct 31, 2021(Enrolled 2019)

Remarks

I just applied for Miranda House because I know that it's the best college in North Campus. And my second option was Lady Shree Ram. But by the grace of God I got admission in Miranda House. I don't avail any quota for admission. The cut off for BA in Miranda House was 85 above and i got 89 .And minimum age was 18. So that was good for me. Admission process went so smoothly I got my favorite college in single day. Faculty was so nice. I was so happy and even my family was happy. And after the admission we were called for the counseling regarding the course and the college. That day was so good and special for me. I got to know about so many things. Even the diversity in Miranda House made it so unique. Even as we know it's Girls college. The environment make it so beautiful. Every single thing of Miranda House made me feel so confident. Every single girl had wish for getting in that college. I was lucky and hardworking enough that i got admission in that college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

There are 2 semester per year. But we have to give practice exams so that we can get good marks. Those practice exams are very helpful as they are the signs of having knowledge or not. The person who studies hard will get good marks and will not find anything difficult. But the one who only studies during exam will get bad marks.

Class Size: 66Course Fees: INR 3365 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Actually I don't have any idea about the financial assistance but we got a scholarship for having good marks in semester. It's a nice initiative made by our College to make use realize about our abilities.

Campus Life

Mirandians Fest is one of my favorite among all college things. It is conducted annually with more fun and enlightenment. Library is the main heart of Miranda House. Every book and journal is available in Miranda Library. Classrooms are so good. Every corner of the classroom looks so beautiful. And the girls who is interested in sports can get chance to play from the side of college. Volleyball, Dancing, Cultural activities are also available. ABVP is the group run by students to help others college too and to get connect with them.

Other Applied Colleges

Lady Shree Ram | BA

Because I heard that it has nice faculty.

Opportunity to pursue a degree from delhi university through open and distance learning.

Dislikes

Limited opportunities for regular classroom interaction and face to face engagement with teachers and fellow students.
Students pursuing distance learning may need to rely more on self-study and independent preparation
More regular communication, student support, and interactive academic activities would improve the overall learning experience

The BA English Honours curriculum at DU SOL is relevant and provides a strong foundation in literature and language. The course covers diverse topics that support academic learning and critical thinking. The flexible structure is suitable for distance-learning students. Adding more practical activities, updated study materials, and interactive learning opportunities could further improve the overall course experience.

My college was a girl's college. There are maximum 60students in a class. Prints were quite cheap in the college cafe.
There were many fest functions in my college. I also participated in the dance fest in my first year. We also used to go on picnics from college.
India's chief guest at the annual function was M Venkaiah Naidu.

Dislikes

College fees were very high for general category people.
The behavior of many teachers was quite rude and arrogant as if they were teaching us for free.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I wanted to do PhD in Political Science but due to percentage I took up BA program. Teachers used to provide notes but mostly I used to be off. There was nothing wrong with the college. Exam timings were good.
