Remarks
The admission is through mpdte counselling. The JEE mains marks are taken into consideration for other state students. There is a choice filling process. There are two or three rounds of admission. Taking admission in the first round is easier than others because maximum seats are full by the end of the second round. There is no clear cutoff system, the admission depends on the seat occupancy. The home state students can get many advantages like TFW and admission on the basis of 12th marks also.
Course Curriculum Overview
I had a great interest in microprocessors and microcontroller, so I chose EC as my first choice. There are 180 seats and some lateral entry seats in each course. The EC branch has lots of facilities. Every course has 3 section and each section has 2 mentors who guide you with different internship workshops and hackathons.Every faculty members is well qualified and the HODs are PhD holders. The teaching is very regular and classic. There are no breaks between classes. Just a recess of 45 minutes. 6-8 lectures every day with practicals and workshops. Regular seminar and placement orientations. The midsem exams are very timely. The endsem examination are conducted by RGPV University which is also timely. There are good gaps between two consecutive exams.
Internships Opportunities
The college has collaborated with Cisco, Nasscom, AICTE and many other companies for internship opportunities. We have recently done two internships from Cisco and Eduskills. The role was to design a packet tracer for networking. The internships are both paid and unpaid. I have done two unpaid and one paid internship. The Cisco internships were about cybersecurity and networking. The main focus was to identify the type of network. The other internships focus on making coding projects and the stipend is about 5-7 thousand for a duration of 3 months
Placement Experience
The placement are good for some courses like CS IT and EC. On the contrary, it's bad for EE ME and Civil. The companies start to visit the campus by the end of 6th semester. 50-60 companies major companies visit every year with about 2000 number of offers made . The highest package is 20 lakhs and the average package is 4-5 lakhs. There is 75 percent placement in CS and IT and about 60% in EC . The other branches do not get much because most of the companies are IT companies. I have planned to work in Microprocessors and VLSI fields after placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure comprises Tuition fees, Transport fees and Hostel fees. The tuition fee is about Rs 120000 per year. There is no negotiation as each and every student have the same fee. However, the home state students who fall into the TFW category can enjoy some fee relaxation. There are no college scholarships but many scholarships organised by the government. The transport fee is about 14000 per year and the hostel fees are about 60-70 thousand. There are regular opportunities for internships both paid and unpaid.
Campus Life
College life was great in the first year but later on due to covid-19 it got affected but I am talking only about the first year which was the best. In the first year, we first had a great fresher party organized by respective departments. The annual festival was Planet Engineers 2020. It was organised in the month of March 2020. Aastha gill I was invited to the concert. We have the biggest library with lots of books and magazines of Indian and foreign writers. The classrooms are equipped with green boards and projectors with comfortable seats. Clean sanitized corridor and washrooms. The main highlight is the hackathons and tech fests like SRIJAN and inter college hackathon. There is a great environment for sports enthusiasts. The NCC and NSS clubs are very well run. There are separate clubs for dance and Music namely Aayat and Surtaal. The social club which helps poor children named Rahat club is very popular. There is a club for coding geeks named coffee and code and CoderGeek.
Hostel Facilities
There are 5-6 hostels with clean environment and studious ambience. The rooms are double and triple occupancy both with AC and Non AC options. 24 hour Purified water cooler. 4 times meal. Breakfast lunch snaks and dinner. The menu is typically north indian with some variety in Vegetables and snacks. Most of the students starts to live outside the hostel after first year because the coaching are far from the college campus. The major locations are indrapuri and MP nagar.
Interview Experience
I got admission based on MpDte counselling through JEE MAINS marks. There was no written test or GD. There was a choice filling process where you can select colleges of your choice in the whole of Madhya Pradesh. There are many colleges but most of them are smaller private colleges from Bhopal and Indore. Chose wisely with eyes open as it is confusing to work to do.
