Remarks

You can get admission through the JAC Chandigarh counselling portal. First, you have to register there by paying 2500 as registration charge then you have to fill choices as per your schedule then the seat allocation starts.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

faculty members are very cooperative here in fact students i.e. seniors are also very cooperative and help us a lot. Teachers are ready to help every time. Professor all here are all qualified with PhD degrees their teaching methods are also good since now there is online so we experience some problems but they help us every time. exams here is done on time and questions are average to difficult.

Internships Opportunities

3

Overall colleges do not provide internships, however, they will guide to get internships. I know some seniors who are doing internships from japan online due to lockdown and earning a handsome salary. There are many companies where you can get an internship if you have the ability, so don't worry about that. There are many students who are in 1 year and are doing internships because of their talent.

Placement Experience

4

For sitting in the placement you are eligible from 7 sem. placement is quite good enough for cse, it, about 80-85% student got placed in companies like TCS, Infosys, Capgemini and many other good companies. The top salary package offered was 11-13 LPA and the minimum salary offered was 3.5 -4 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee of this college is 4lakh for 4 years i.e. 50k per sem, fees are nominal for the average family. The college also provides some scholarships to sc, st and some obc students but not for general. the campus also provides you opportunities like joining NCC, NSS, and some acting platforms. the highest CTC offered here is around 13 lakh.

Campus Life

4

The college has beautiful green lush around it has separate boys and girls hostels. books of all departments are available in the library you can take them from there for 5 to 7 days. it has a big ground where badminton, football, kabaddi, and cricket can be played. it has one official club named CodeChef that organises an online contest of cp; there are many unofficial communities for study, drama, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
