Remarks

Building is getting older day by day, needs to improve a lot on cleanliness, sanitation and drinking water.

Entrance Preview

It accepts criteria based off Delhi UNiversity guidelines.Admission process is fairly simple of filling up forms and getting is submitted. Staff is a bit relaxed and takes its own time to do things. Though they are pretty much student friendly. I personally chose this college for close proximity to my home in East Delhi and because it was accepting my scores as per class XII exams.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Way back in 2000 it was a simple annualized curricium. Now its called BA programme and is a semester wise course. Course contents have also changed but it still lacks vocational and professional touch required to get a job after degree. One aspires to do a Masters or specialized course in any other field after doing bachelors degree.

Internships Opportunities

Companies typically come for specialized courses like MCA/BCA/ B.com honors,For generalized programmes, students have to look arrange internships on their own. There has been change in this trend though in recent years

Placement Experience

4

For speialized courses companies offer changes every year. For example, for Mca,it could start from 5 lac and can end up at 8 lac. For b.com hons the bar is higher since its mainly related to business management.

College Events

3

Annual Day is more of a fecilitation ceremony for students plus some programmes arranged by freshers,Freshers party arranged by seniors, the whole college is in full mood to dance till the end or else if some fight breaks even. Alumni allows members like us to be still associated with college and know about current events. Allows more networking activities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Highly feasible since its partly UGC funded college. Structure mainly comprises of tuition fee which is very low and a refundable fee which they take to be a part of alumni when you complete your course.

Fees and Financial Aid

No loan scholarship taken. It does provide scholarshop to mertuous, backward class students to motive them more. Scholarships are also coming from alumni network for top scorer.

Campus Life

3

PGDAV has always been really good in sports and extra curricular activities and has produced international level sportspersons. For debates also, thhere has been good students who have won several national awards. In science field I believe they need to do a bit more. One thing I need to mention here though that the NCC association in pgdav is really robust.

Hostel Facilities

3

There is no hostel as of now but the canteen has improved over these many years. Way back in 2000,quality food wasnt there,But as I see now. There are brands which are setup in college premises.

Alumni/Alumna

PGDAV has been there for more than 70 years and its students have reached heights in their careers. Even after attaining much success, they still attend annual alumni meetings. I have seen them and feel proud that I have been a part of pgdav college.

Exam Structure

Exams are always hectic since its dates are decided by Delhi UNiversity. But now since its a semester process, it gives ample time to every student to study for exams and relax before rejoining college

Faculty

3

Faculty is as per Delhi University standards. Since most of the professors are mid age in their 50s. Their course of teaching is relaxed. I have been duly attending alumni meetings and can see new faculties being part of the system. There are staff faculties who have been here since last 15+ years and lots of them are already retired.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

I wanted to do PhD in Political Science but due to percentage I took up BA program. Teachers used to provide notes but mostly I used to be off. There was nothing wrong with the college. Exam timings were good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being brutally honest I don't think that the course contributes a lot to our preparation for the real world but it teaches us very new things which I like. The course might not be very helpful in our real life preparation or the preparation for the real world but at the same time it enhances our knowledge and teachers as about various new things so I am satisfied with my course and whatever the curriculum includes I like it

Course Curriculum Overview:

In term of relevance I'll say that there are many topics which should not be taught as they are way too old and contradicting in modern times. New tumes problems and solutions should be taught in replace focusing on present.

Placement Experience:

Final year students are generally placed with an average package of 7-8 lakhs for management programs. Companies including the big 4 like EY, KPMG, Deloitte and other reputed companies have visited and many offers have been made. Around 60% of the students get placed in management branch. After getting the degree, I am also planning to appear in the placement opportunities.
