Remarks

The admission process is quite detailed. To pursue any course we just need to have our percentage equal to the suggestive percentage and keep an eye on the cut off. There are various eligibilities required for different courses which needs to be fulfilled. Students are free to avail different reservation benefits. However I believe there should be certain benefits for the general category students as well and the admission process should be simplified.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I have opted for economic honors. I Choose this course because of its practicality of the subject and its usage in the day to day activities and mainly because of my liking an interest in it. The faculty members of the economist department are quiet knowledgeable have enough information about the subjects , share fun fact knowledge , have recent knowledge about the economic activity, data analysis and have studied from renowned colleges of the Delhi University like SRCC , Miranda and ramjas . The term examinations had been postponed due to covid and was conducted in the month of March since it was an OBE examination and we did not have experience about the terms and procedure it was a quite difficult for us to write examination upload the PDF on time.

Internships Opportunities

4

Various companies come to our college with a number of internship opportunities .some of the companies namely Zomato ,swiggy, okay caramel ,Dell etc . The projects offered are for example for writing a movie review ,for acting in a drama and the period of time is for 6 months . The internship provides various certificate, stipend of 2000 to 3000 per month and rich experience.

Placement Experience

4

Students from the 6th semester are eligible for campus placements .There are various good companies that visit our college and a number of offers are made from the companies. Some of the companies are Dell Zomato ,swiggy etc. The highest paid average package is 22 lacs and the lowest maybe of 5 to 6 lakhs . The percentage of students getting placement is around 70% approximately and my plans after getting the degree is to pursue masters in economy from Delhi school of economics.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of a college Miranda House are quite reasonable and it takes money at once. The college gives a number of scholarships for students who have the capability is to avail it .The college even provides financial assistance to people who who belong to the category of EWS. The college provides various jobs and internship opportunities with a good package.

Campus Life

4.5

The annual fest of Miranda House is the tempest held in April and our tech fest of economics department is Zenith which is held in the month of March .The library of Miranda House is huge one with a number of books and journals and even different newspapers. Thee classroom have adequate amenities for the students to suffice, it has a big classrooms ,sufficient space with proper big blackboard and a proper chairs and tables for students as well as for the professor. A number of sports activities are held on the campus each and everyday .There are various clubs and social groups for students run by students some of them are GSC, drama movie, dance.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being brutally honest I don't think that the course contributes a lot to our preparation for the real world but it teaches us very new things which I like. The course might not be very helpful in our real life preparation or the preparation for the real world but at the same time it enhances our knowledge and teachers as about various new things so I am satisfied with my course and whatever the curriculum includes I like it

In term of relevance I'll say that there are many topics which should not be taught as they are way too old and contradicting in modern times. New tumes problems and solutions should be taught in replace focusing on present.

Final year students are generally placed with an average package of 7-8 lakhs for management programs. Companies including the big 4 like EY, KPMG, Deloitte and other reputed companies have visited and many offers have been made. Around 60% of the students get placed in management branch. After getting the degree, I am also planning to appear in the placement opportunities.
