Remarks

The admission to this college is based upon jee main ranks in 1st 3 counseling. But after these, there will be physical counseling in which leftover seats are present, and in that seats may be given on the basis of 12th marks. Also, there are reservations for SC/ST, OBC, and EWS.

Course Curriculum Overview

In a semester there are 3 sessionals and 1 final exam and 2 practical exams one internal and the other external. Exams are not that difficult if you have regularly attended your classes. The faculty is good and their teaching is good. Good ratio b/w faculty and students.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 85000 per year

Placement Experience

From the 7th sem, we are eligible for college placements. The companies which have visited this year are Yamaha motor solution, embitel technologies, Deloitte, Indus valley, TCS, and Infosys. The average package was around 6 lakhs per annum and the highest is 10lac CTC.

Fees and Financial Aid

Recently they hiked our fees in 2019 our 1-year fee was around 70000 but now it is around 86000. Scholarships are not there for the general student. Sc/st students can go for scholarships and also for Jammu students.

Campus Life

Excelsior and Milaap are the annual fests of this college. In excelsior, all technical and non-technical events are there. Milaap is the fest that connects alumni with students. There are mainly 3 libraries in college one is for college and the other 2 are for university. And many books are available there. There are coding and entrepreneurship clubs in our college for coding there is GDSC and for entrepreneurship there is E-cell and these are highly active.

Good Campus, Good Learning and Overall Experience

Likes

Good campus with a lot of greenery and a peaceful environment for students.
Teachers are mostly supportive and actical classes are helpful for understanding the subjects.
Good labs, library and sports facilities with many activities happening on campus.

Dislikes

Some administrative work takes more time than expected and can be a little confusing.
Hostel and mess facilities can be improved, especially in terms of food variety and quality
Sometimes the workload and attendance requirements feel a little stressful for students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel the course curriculum is quite relevant and covers the important basics of Biotechnology. We get both theory and practical classes which helps in understanding the subjects better. Exams are usually moderate. I think more industry based projects and practical exposure can make the course even better. Overall, I am satisfied with the curriculum.

The college is spread across 300 acres of lush green campus with a lot of greenery everywhere. The weather is also very pleasant
The infrastructure of the college is well maintained with proper department and parks . The labs are well equipped with the necessary equipment required for the practical knowledge of the student.
Sports facilities are also top notch in the college and also gym is provided in the sports ground.

Dislikes

In rainy season water stands in the hostels making it difficult to move in and out of the hostel.

Placement Experience:

The placement rate of the college is decent one with average package of about 12-14 LPA amd about 85% students are placed every year. Students can apply for placements after 2nd year and companies like JP Morgan , microsoft, Hero , ICICI Bank , etc. Visit the college

Wifi facility is available in hostels and in some classrooms
Teachers are quite good and they are very helpful

Dislikes

Placement are not good in dcrust one some some students get placed with maximum packed of 9 lakhs minimum 2.5 lakhs
Course curriculum is not updated they are not helpful in modern time.
Girls and boys ratio are not upto the mark.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not good in my college. Only few companies are recruiting through on campus like virtusa, tcs etc. average package is 3-4 lakhs and maximum package is 9 lakhs. From 4th year students are eligible for on campus placement. Only 30-40% of students get placed. I am thinking to give gate exam for better opportunity.

Best affordable quality college for middle-class

Likes

Good and well-spaced campus of the college.
Good placements with high salary packages at reputed companies.
Good, affordable college for engineering, suitable for middle-class students.

Dislikes

Poor WiFi connection at times, when too many people use WiFi at the same time.
Generator works till 11pm only at normal days.
Hostel food needs improvement, lack of quality chefs.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements after 6th semester. Numerous reputed companies offer placements, to name a few, these are HCL, Tata Consultancy Services(TCS), Wipro, Infosys, L & T, JCB, airtel, JIO, etc. The highest package to date is 27 lakhs per annum and the average package is about 6 lakhs per annum. About more than 85% of students get placed in good companies with a satisfactory package, however, good skills are required for a much higher package. I'll work hard to get a good package at a reputed company.
