What Students Say

Likes

Courses are useful. You can learn many things
Coding culture is improving here as many people here are into CP
No ragging in college all seniors are well behaved

Dislikes

Mess food is below my expectations but it is improving
sometimes there are problems regarding hostel

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this college because I wanted CSE. Also, the course here is better than many colleges. Because there are no chemistry or other useless subjects that don't have any use in the CSE. But there is no branch change option as they start core subjects from the first semester only.

Class Size: 141Course Fees: INR 300000 per year

Internships Opportunities

3.5

You have to find an internship by yourself here. You can get some guidance from CGC or the career guidance cell. But mostly you have to work hard, do some projects, make your resume strong, and go for internships by yourself.

Placement Experience

3.5

Students are eligible for placements in the 7th semester. Many companies like Amazon, cognizant, Infosys, tcs, etc. come to college. Last year because of the recession the placement percentage was 70 percent. I am planning to go for higher studies or an MBA or UPSC.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees here are a bit higher than other premier institutions in India as it is based on ppp model. Also, there are chances that fees will increase in the future as no funds are now provided by the government and the management of the college now has to pay all the expenses.

Campus Life

There is one cultural fest called IIIT Habba which is conducted once in a year. There are many tech events conducted by various clubs. You can find all textbooks and reference books in the Library but there are very few books which are not related to academics. Annual sports day is conducted in this college and also there is inter IIIT event for sports. You can prepare or practice sports in college. There are 3 badminton courts, 1 basketball court, 1 volleyball court, 1 football ground which is not developed yet, Cricket nets and carrom, chess, TT, etc. There are many technical and non-tech clubs in college. eg. coding club, gdsc, photography club, drama, music, development, quiz, reading, etc.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel is compulsory in college. But the capacity is less so you have to leave college in the fourth year. Hostel mess is also compulsory and it is decent. Hygiene is maintained in mess but the taste is not that good but it is edible.

Hostel Fee: INR 100000 per year

Admission

In this college, you can get admission only via josaa or csab. For that, you have to give JEE mains. There is no management quota or home state quota. Also, there is no female reservation in this college.

Yes the first thing I liked is the campus and the environment there is no harrasment and strict action will be taken.
And second thing is faculty members are so helpful and they always help to students and different festival
And also the campus provide all facilities and make helps to sports and ration is almost equal of boys and girls

Dislikes

Yes some things are there which I disliked first is the campus is very strict and no function are organised yearly ones or twice is very sad thing as compared to other campus
Second thing is food students facing some problem with the food which hear prepared so outsiders facing lot of problems
Third is about hostel facility is good but very strict only once a week the students should go out side and write leave letter to go there native places.

Placement Experience:

Students got opportunity to eligible after 3rd year mainly in 7th semester students get opportunity for campus interview. In my college the company which came to hire is congizent and microsoft and amezon and dell nearly 80 to 90 company are came. very first thing i like in the college is the wifi network,
the library which is very peace and silent
average places to take photos and nearby there is nandi hills to visit

Dislikes

i dislike the distance of the college, its too large, should walk soo much
the cost of stationaries in the general store
i dont think so faculy are that much expertise , only countable people worth it

Course Curriculum Overview:

see i have choosed this course because it is very relatable to CSE, coz my ranking was not sufficient to get this course. the course which i took "Information Science and Engineering" is really a good course. they make us real world engineers. the area they shld actually improve is, hiring worthable faculty.

Insights of the Gopalan college of engineering and Management by a First Year Student

Likes

Canteen is fine has nice and tasty food and quite a lot of options
Library is also good has every book related to my course and few others as well
Lab facilities are also very nice and the college has a nice crowd

Dislikes

It's nothing like I expected, they don't let students use the ground or turfs. Facilities are pretty bad.
They charge money for everything and has zero facilities for college students. Everything is for there school students.
College is very small and the faculties are rude to students. (Mostly the case)

Placement Experience:

Student are eligible for placements from there 7th semester but I wouldn't recommend relying on college for placements. Not many companies come to this college so placements are really bad. If u have skills it would be better to apply to companies on your own. I don't have details on how many students gets placed but as much as I know it's about 30-50 % And average package is also very low. I plan of gaining skills and certification on my own and job hunting myself in 4th year through my connections and internships. Or maybe go abroad for masters As I'm a first year student I don't know much about which companies come and how much they offer.
