Course Curriculum Overview

5

This course is my 2nd preference and I wanted this to pursue for my future competitive exams. Faculty student ratio of any particular subject in North Campus Is 65 students:1 teacher. Faculty is very good and their teaching is also very good. Teachers are very good qualified experienced one who are very supportive in nature. Terms exam were in every 4 months of a semester. It is very easy to pass as you only have to read previous year questions and their answers.

Internships Opportunities

5

Some internship offering companies like Unzip Delhi offers a stipend of 10000 a month for 5 months and it was really amazing and knowledgeable. My task was to make a project and presentation on The Delhi's marvellous architecture and study it in details.

Placement Experience

3

From 5th semester placements begins. Companies like Amazon, Infosys, etc visit our college and offers placement. Highest package reach around 40 lakhs per annum. While average is 6 lpa. Percentage of students getting placement is different from course to course. Science field gets placement of 65% while arts field gets 30% placement opportunities.my plans after the degree was attempting Competitive exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees Hike is not that much. It is very low as compared to other Private colleges specially in the metropolitan city of Delhi. It only cost 19000 rs per year differ with the caste. There are many scholarships for college offered by reputed organisations on the basis of merit.

Campus Life

5

Every Year in my college was organised MECCA which was a very exciting fest and each month a college magazine had been published. Library is one of the largest in Hindu College covered till 4th floor and is very spacious with lots of books. You can't even read all the books of Library in 4 years of your course if you read 1 book a day. Such a great collection of books. Classroom has a smart board and comfortable wooden seats and tables. Sport Ground in College is very large and have all the facilities and equipments for sports. There are many societies in the college for personality development one should join at least two .

Admission

Admission process was quite long took around 2 months. I had given CUET UG 2023 exam and Got Hindu College in1st round with a score of 785. I had my first preference of Political Science Hons from Hindu College but got the second preference of History Hons. You have to be patience for the result and exam as it is not that tough and I recommend not to take coaching for CUET it is totally a waste of money. I had attempt the test only by reading NCERT of 12th and some pyqs. Application form can be obtained from Delhi University official site and check the site regularly for updates. I was from General Category so don't have much knowledge of other categories but yes it is 30-40 marks lower than the general ones. General cut off for my course was 750/800. You should score at least 700+ for a safe score and you will definitely get North campus with a good and your favourite course. I think admission process to be improved so that it could be more efficient and fast.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
