Remarks

The experience can't be divided between this binary of good or bad, but it was all in all a satisfying experience.

Entrance Preview

Being someone who has always loved literature, I chose Daulat Ram because of the faculty there. The professors are approachable and student friendly. The distance was commutable from my place and it guaranteed growth and personal development. The college is one of the North Campus colleges and that white majestic building speaks for itself in between all the red brick buildings. The positive reviews from the alumni just made my decision firm.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is such that it won't be cumbersome for students to approach it but at the same time, it challenges the mental faculty of the one dealing with it, which in turn results in increased knowledge about the particular subject.T he best part about the syllabus is that it is chronological in nature.

Internships Opportunities

No, there is no provision of internship in our college. Though the placement cell is quite active.

College Events

4

If one starts talking about the events celebrated in the college, it will be a big list. If one needs to discuss the main events, it has to be Manjari, the annual fest of Daulat Ram College that goes on for two days. Some of the other events are like an annual day, sports meet, self-defence training among the other activities and the events that the college holds.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is pretty feasible as the college comes under the University of Delhi and that comes under the government of India. The students need to pay minimal fees and they even get some amount back once the college is over. The idea of such a fee structure is to promote education.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, the college provides the scholarship for students who are not financially sound and also for the students who excel in studies. There are cash prizes as well for good performance at the end of the year. But I haven't heard of any loan facility provided by the college, plus there is no need for one.

Campus Life

3

As the college belongs to north campus, the life at campus Is pretty exciting, with Kamla Nagar at one side and Hudson at the other end. There are many extracurricular activities like NSS and NCC. The sports team is pretty active. The college arranges for self-defense training every year in collaboration with Delhi Police.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Daulat Ram's hostel is one of the best hostels in the campus , so much so that it has bagged the best hostel award thrice. The mess food is satiating enough to not let the student miss the home cooked food. The hostel union ensures that proper hygiene is maintained, especially in the mess.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, the alumni keep on visiting college as and when they get time. The college provides equal importance to the alumni.

Exam Structure

Exams are conducted twice a year, that is semester system. Under the semester system, the workload of students gets divided and there are less pressure and tension because of the limited syllabus. Such a structure promises confidence in students as they tend to prepare well and perform well too.

Admission

I got admitted to the institute by qualifying the cut off list that was released by University Of Delhi .The admission process requires you to fill in the application form of the college and then submitting the respective documents to the prescribed department.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is efficient and effective. The best part is that students can approach professors anytime regarding their problems and doubts. The faculty is totally against ragging and strict action is taken against students who are found committing this crime.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
