Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course covers all the basic foundation course for upsc if you are looking for doing upsc optional as hons majorly foucses on one subject and du syllabus of history it covers all the topics related to ancient medieval and modern indian The areas of improvement in teaching could be reduce the extra curriculum subjects such as there are 3 subjects of history as main paper and along with there are other 4 optional papers which we have to be give which makes it tough to focus on one subject The timings of exam are around after every 4 months and results are declared in around 2 months and difficulty is not quite easy it is moderate paper you have to study well to pass

Internships Opportunities

1

to be honest there is not so good placement for history hons students as it is ba courses but still I know some of them such as TCS - Tata consultants service in which we had to software developers and stipend is around 5000 after one month of free service u had to give in this service you have to do web designing and coding and testing of software's This is only good an genuine internship rest all are fraud be aware

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of history hons at Hansraj is around 22865 rs per year and it is highest among north campus college as it funded by dav committee that's why and there are no other charges including in this only tuition and service and maintenance fees is there but if u take like hostel and mess then its hover around 100k so its expensive that's why most of the students prefer to take pg and flats for living There are scholarship such as mahatma Hansraj scholarship is also available for weaker and reserved section which provide 4k per month if u r qualified acc to the course

Campus Life

5

My overall experience with Hansraj college is quite good and had an astute and vibrant atmosphere around the campus The annual fest is called as confluence which is held every year in April It also host zenith a technical fest in October The library is too good best library as it is around of 2 floor and thousands of books are present in library to read Classrooms are also well equipped with advanced projector and ac are there in each room In terms of sports and activities Hansraj offered numerous of activities and volunteers to join soeicty through diff society and also games such as basket ball , football , hockey , cricket , volleyball , kro kho is present There are many society and ngo present in college which helps us to make an great impact on human and students life

Admission

You can find the application form through cuet paper which is all India entrance test held on the basis of 12 th class ncert mcq based on which you have to select 4/5 subjects similar to your school subjects in 12th class according to the cuet guidelines as diff courses have different requirements so it's of total around 600/800 marks depending on course . Then after that cut off is declared and according to your preferences list you get the college The cut off for Hansraj history hons for general category was around 760 and I got 774 marks in cuet out of 800 Yes reservation is available for that around 27 for obc and for sc st are also reserved 22 percent and ews 10 percent and for Kashmir migrant one percent and some proportion for north east students The timing of exam are around after board paper in April end or may starting and paper is easy to moderate level Admission process could be much more easier if proper syllabus and method of calculating marks are mentioned or convene

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
