Likes
- Faculties of almost all the departments are very smart , intellectual and hardworking. Almost all the teachers here are Phd. holders. They are very helpful and try to give maximum possible time to all the students.
- College environment supports peace and tranquility. I have never heard a case of ragging , harassment or group fighting here. Seniors are very helpful. They are always ready to help your way out.
- Cultural fests are being organised here periodically where talented students can showcase their talent. These cultural fests also help other students make them familiar with traditions and culture of other states and regions.
Dislikes
- Placements are one of the most concerning thing the college needs to look into. Placement opportunities are very less. Very less students are being selected from college.
- Parking area is very small. Most of the parking space is covered by professor's vehicle itself. College students who are not from very far , use their personal vehicle find it difficult to park their vehicles here.
- Canteen should be made more hygienic . The food from canteen is not satisfactory. Plus the place of cooking is not much hygienic.
Course Curriculum Overview
I opted this course because i loved this subject from my childhood. I love doing calculations and solving problems. Syllabus for this course prepared by University is wholesome and complete. Also this syllabus is very similar to optional subject of UPSC. This curriculum prepares you for the real world applications. You get to know a lot about finance and linear programming which helps in real world applications. Theory subjects are too much which makes students feel boring at some point of time . Improvement is needed here. Semester exams ar being held here after every 6 months which give students ample of time for preparation.
Internships Opportunities
Internship programmes are there. Last summer there was some internship programme where they can work in college department of delhi University college itself. Also they get the stipend for the same. Some tech companies come to offer internship program where students get the work of handling accounts, handling social media handles and other related work for the companies.
Placement Experience
Students of last semester are eligible for sitting in campus placements. Mostly BCom students are being hiered from here for accountant and related posts. Highest package is around 3.4 lakhs and lowest is 1.2 lakh. There is very less students who get direct placement form college. Very less company come to offer jobs here. Percentage is less than 10 i will say who get college placement. My plan has always been UPSC . By studying in college, i have already prepared for a optional subject which is gonna be maths . Also i will start taking coaching after completing my graduation.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for this course in delhi university is affordable. There is little hike in fee price from first year to second year and then second year to third year which is also not that much and easily affordable. Total course of fees for this course is 30 thousand. There are no other service charges other than tuition fees. There is fee for exam registration every semester. There are variety of scholarship and financial aid for students here. Students get a lot of opportunities for financial help. For the reserved category students there is a different scholarship. For students having family income less than 4-5 lakhs , there is different scholarship. There is no such campus employment for students. You can server the college by joining societies and clubs here .
Campus Life
Cultural and educational fests are being held here at regular intervals. There is wide range of books available in the library for the students. For course related books there are almost all books that are available. Also other books are there other than course that are available whether it is interesting novels or informative journals. Wifi facilities is there in the college. Practical labs are there where almost all the laptops and monitors are fit , fine and working. For students who love sports and want to opt a specific game , this college gives you ample of opportunities. There is a. Sports day happening every year. Also students after being in the college team get opportunity to play where they compete with other colleges of University which helps make their game better. Students run social groups are there by which they can raise their voice against any kind of injustice they experience.
Admission
Earlier there was cutoff based system where students get the admission by their marks in 12th class. But now there is cuet test for all the students of different courses. Colleges and courses are alloted according to your performance in entrance test. You can find the application form on official site of Delhi University . Other information regarding this entrance test is also available there . Reservation benefits are there. There is a little low cutoffs for students belonging to reserved category students. Also after entering the college, there is scholarship and financial aid program for students belonging to marginalised and reserved categories. Entrance exams are being taken every year.
Faculty
Almost all the faculties here are phd holders. You will get to see a bunch of iitians here also. So they give you the right path to your career . They are always ready to give students the required time. Their teaching skills are very impressive not like other govt teachers . Students can ask for time to solve their doubts. If not in class they can give you extra time in college library after class also. They are easily approachable and very frank. They treat students just like their children and try to solve all their problems.
Interview Experience
There is no GD or interview in the admission process. You just have to clear the entrance test with good grades and you can get the college and course of your choice. Many students get admission through sports quota where they need to show their qualification of their particular game. University provides syllabus for the entrance and also mention the books for preparation. You can prepare keeping in view the syllabus.
