Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Similiar to other English literature curriculum , mostly it included conventional topics. However,it also attempted to include the topics that can go beyond the framework of the conventional curtin of English literature

Internships Opportunities

2.5

There was an active placement cell in the campus. It notifies the students with the opportunities in the mail. The students are provided with an account of the placement cell. The college used to keep placements, however, I am unaware of the specifics

Fees and Financial Aid

During my time in Miranda, they used to follow a one year method to take fees from students. It was 14000+ for arts and humanities. For science,it was 19000+. They used to include all other bills within this.I don't remember paying for anything expect an exam fee in the last year. But it was refunded to my account.I haven't witnessed any hike in the fees, however, the amount of fee may make the course inaccessible to many. The scholarship portal of the college website was active, there was financial aid provided by the college, It also included other aids and scholarship from the alumnis

Campus Life

3.5

I am an introverted person, but I can assure you a lot to offer to improve the quality of your college life. It does have its annual festivals and many other fests organised by different clubs and societies. The annual fest is known as Tempest, it is organised in two days and it often includes music and DJ night, and many other programmes, it is typically held in March.About the library and infrastructure ,the books and journals were easily accessible, the username and password of applications like JSTOR were provided from the beginning. The activities of sports was very less, however other extracurricular activities were largely from different societies and clubs for it.

Admission

Before CUET-UG,the admission was based on the merit scores from the 12th.In Miranda, the cut off for English literature was around 97.After submitting the application in online, the students were asked to present in the colleges where you can apply with your mark.If you are availing reservation, you have to submit a caste or community certificate, designed for the central sectors. After the supervision of the required documents, and payment of fees. The student will be provisionally enrolled in the college.

Faculty

4

I was a student at Miranda from 2019-2022. The department of English, has a fair ratio of students and teachers. The teachers used to divide to different courses and some faculties were approachable. Some faculties did seen approachable ,however, they were intimidating also. However, the quality of lectures and class room discussions were good.To improve the interaction and approachability, there was a section called tutorial, in which small group of students used to interact with a professor. There was mentor-mentee program, that was also aimed at improving the interaction.

Other Applied Colleges

Hindu College | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (English)

I found Miranda more appealing

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is highly relevant and well-structured. It covers core subjects in detail along with modern industry-oriented topics. The balance between theory and practical learning is good, which helps students build strong concepts and job-ready skills for the future.

I would rate it 9 out of 10. The reason is simple, whatever my professors teach and everything that is there in my syllabus is really helpful for my future. Not just that, they way lectures are delivered by the professors is just awesome

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being brutally honest I don't think that the course contributes a lot to our preparation for the real world but it teaches us very new things which I like. The course might not be very helpful in our real life preparation or the preparation for the real world but at the same time it enhances our knowledge and teachers as about various new things so I am satisfied with my course and whatever the curriculum includes I like it

Course Curriculum Overview:

In term of relevance I'll say that there are many topics which should not be taught as they are way too old and contradicting in modern times. New tumes problems and solutions should be taught in replace focusing on present.

Placement Experience:

Final year students are generally placed with an average package of 7-8 lakhs for management programs. Companies including the big 4 like EY, KPMG, Deloitte and other reputed companies have visited and many offers have been made. Around 60% of the students get placed in management branch. After getting the degree, I am also planning to appear in the placement opportunities.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting
