Course Curriculum Overview

4

As we all know economics is a subject that opens a lot of opportunities for students. The curriculum prepares me for real-world applications by learning the subjects practically and getting to know about the things in general that no one else has told me. The syllabus should be less as there is a lot of pressure on students as we have our semester exams after every 3-month time span. This is a very difficult course and it needs a lot of time for preparation as well as understanding.

Internships Opportunities

4

The name of the companies are pixstory, bbt etc there are numerous. We even forget a count that much. The stipend varies from work to work as it cam be from 5k to 25k. Most of the companies offer HR post and sales and marketing posts. And the other ones provide fellowship programs in which we have to do research work and then we get stipend according to our work.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fees of our college are like I'm okay with that after seeing the course. There is no such hike as after every passing year our fees are decreased in some manner. The complete cost of my education, including tuition and service fees might be approx. 2 lakhs for the all three years. There are various scholarships available for poor students so that they can get the benefits and achieve their education with minimum fees.

Campus Life

4

The annual fest held is MANJARI. It is the best experience I have ever had. There are fests for different festivals as well and the months are not specified for that. Every department has its own fest also. Books and journals of all types are available in the library. There are projectors in every class and the chairs are comfortable. The campus offers every type of sport like kho kho, kabaddi, badminton, etc. and every type of society is there like classical dance, western dance, fashion society, research cell, placement cell, and many more. Yes, many students run social groups or student portals the impact of that on student life is that it has benefited everyone. We can know each and everything about our college and can get any queries resolved as early as possible. My campus life is great and I'm getting a lot of opportunities to interact with people and boost confidence.

Admission

I gave a cuet when it was launched for the very first time. I don't have any idea about that and the eligibility of my course was one language,3 main subjects while maths was compulsory for applying for economics hons. The application form can be found on the official website cuet.nta.nic. The application fees vary from subject to subject and the application dates are announced by NTA itself. I am from the OBC category and my application fees were less compared to the general category students and my marks were less but I got admission to the top college, North Campus the best thing. The slots were given to students for the exams. The exam was easy to difficult and it was doable. I found it easy. The improvement in the admission process should be made as the score after normalization should not be reduced and the allotment of colleges should be done early and the center should be given nearby so that the students can save time and money in traveling.

Faculty

The teachers are helpful in nature and they are approachable. Sometimes they don't understand the burden upon us and as there are much internals taking place students might feel pressurized. The teachers don't cooperate sometimes with the students. As, we have our semester exams, every 3 months it's a lot of burden to complete the whole syllabus within this time span with the internals and fests going.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
