Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The curriculum is well drafted, with covering most of the important topics as is included in the curriculum of top universities. The exam schedule is, however, very hectic. In one semester, you have the end semester exams, mid semester exams and 2 CIAs (Continous Internal Assessments). The CIAs cover almost everything ranging from class tests and vivas to presentations and research paper writing. Apart from the main subjects, there are some extra mandatory subjects, which I feelnare of less importance. One of those is the Holistic Education which deals with very basic and natural concepts. There is also an exam for Holistic Education, without clearing which you won't be eligible to attempt the end semester exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total tuition fees for the 5 year law integrated program is Rs. 2 lakh and 5 thousand per annum. The fees is reasonable and the course has value for money. There are no scholarships or financial aid available to the students from the side of the college itself. However, the college does share about the external scholarships with the students through various means and the students are free to apply to those applications. The Internship and Placement Committee is a well organised body which takes care of the employent opportunities. Recently, there has been a considerable growth in the number of students placed from the placement drive. Some top tier firms also come in the placement drive.

Campus Life

4.5

Christ University offers platforms for a variety of social activities, with just one condition - you need your ID card everytime and for everything. Some of the notable annual functions and fests include Bhasha Utsav (ethnic day), Blossom, Darpan, etc. In all these events, all the 8 departments participate actively and the college campus feels like a carnival. A variety of books and journals are available in the Knowledge Centre and the Old Library of Christ, along with the remote access options. These books can be issued from Library for a period of 14 days, after which fine is applicable.

Admission

The application form is available on the official website of Christ University. After filling the form and submitting the required documents such as marksheets, aadhar card, etc, they share with you the details of the entrance exam. The first stage is an online test, which consists of multiple choice questions. The marks of the test don't matter that much as the most important phase is the interview. So, the next round is a personal interview in which any faculty member asks questions to the candidate. In the interview itself , the next phase is Micro Presentation. Herein, the faculty gives you a topic and 2 minutes to think about it. After that, you have to speak on that topic for minimum 2 minutes. After that the result is announced.

Faculty

2.5

The teachers are very varied, some are really qualified and have great teaching methodologies while some are just PH.D students who don't anything about the curriculum. The senior teachers, who are experienced, are supportive and can clarify doubts. They handle the curriculum really well. But some teachers are allotted while they are pursuing their PHD, most of these teachers are inexperienced and unaware of the curriculum. They face issues covering the syllabus in the class and also fail to address the doubts. Thus, nothing concrete can be said about the faculty, until and unless you get the best ones. As about the student-teacher ratio, two class teachers are allotted to each class (for BA LLB, the class size is 80). So, I think that is a fair ratio.

Placement Experience:

The placements of Christ University Bangalore, are pretty decent. Students are eligible to get placements for the 9th semester, and there are a lot of companies that come for campus placements like Shardul Amrchnad Mangaldas and Cyril Amrchand Mangaldas, Khaitan, Puviyah and co., Trilegal and etc. The highest placement that went last year was 23 lakh, and the average placement is 6-7 lakhs. My plan is to do litigation after getting a degree.

Placements are okay not so good because of the field as Law doesn't have much placements because it is only given in corporate sector and other things people only have to get employment like for Self employment.

Placement Experience:

The university has a placement cell which is helpful. They help us get internships in which place we want (only if we are eligible). The placements are nice which are reported by the seniors. We got to know that most of the seniors had a starting package of 7L per annum.

Course Curriculum Overview:

A professional course with the best college fees is the main perks of this college. It is even a Joseph's College, which is one of the best colleges in Bangalore. We have certificate courses, outreach programmes, committee events, etc. The teaching method is interesting, teachers don't rely on textbooks but on activities, cases, programmes, etc. The cousre is not difficult or not easy, so it's moderate. If you study, you can easily ace it. We have to go for internships too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course for three reasons: read, write and speak. The first two I love and the last I wanted to improve. Law as a career gives you opportunity to learn these skills. The faculty student ratio is 1:60. Our batch of 180 is divided among three sections. It has trimester system, which means you'll have exam every three months.
