Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I am very passionate about economics and this is the reason I took economics and history as my combination with economics as major and history as minor . Also the faculty of economics is good . Their teaching methods is excellent. Though I didn't have maths in 11th class but now I am able to understand Economics major well because of our professor . Semester Exams are kept in December and may . I believe it should be changed as we have extreme temperatures at that time which didn't allow us to study and focus properly. The internals timings are okay with me .

Fees and Financial Aid

We have 14,670 fees for first year and in second it was less than that .other courses have similar fees structure with a little bit difference . There are various scholarships available in our college like . K. Trikha Memorial Awards , Ms. Veena Nayar scholarship for first year , Financial assistance for UG students of all courses , Ms jai Rani bhalla merit with spirit scholarship offers to BA economics Hons Students . The amount depends on the fund received to college.

Campus Life

5

We have an annual fest called The Tempest which is a very vibrant fest but it's an in-house fest that means students from other colleges are not allowed there . It is usually happens in April . We have a very aesthetic library with all types of books , journals , magazines . It's very clean and books are in a good condition. We gave big classroom but AC is not there in classes except in few of them . We have smart classes as well . We have basketball, volleyball, Lawn tennis as main sports and not only ECA students but general students are also allowed. We have society for all arenas basically you name them and you have them whether it's dance , music , debating, mun, theatre english and hindi both, equal opportunity cell , NSS , NCC etc. It results in overall development of students as we it allows us not only to be member but also heads of different positions.

Admission

I also applied for Banaras Hindu University and I did get Economics honours there but as the result was declared late there I chose Miranda and also I believe the personality development which is possible in Delhi is not in BHU .To get admission in Miranda cuet exam has to be given. It is required to score 700+/800 to get into Miranda and as I am from unreserved so the cut off is much high . I am from BA program ( economics+ history) and my cuet score was 757 . Also remember that every time cut off fluctuates . One can find application form ,fees and dates on cuet samarth or nta's website. Every information is given on these sites .. This time we faced a lot of issues in the answer sheet and also normalised score decreased in most of the cases . So all those who are going to give cuet next year aim for highest marks... I want nta to work smoothly and should take more precautions next time.

Faculty

5

The teacher faculty ratio is 1:50 .We have the best faculty.they are supporting and all are intellectuals. Economics department have best teachers like Ravi sir , Hena ma'am and also history department has Rashi ma'am . There is no one whom I dislik .Till now I have got the best professors. Apart from Semester exams in 7 subjects .we have Internals and They are of moderate level . In semester exam everyone is able to score passing marks . The curriculum I believe is apt as per the graduation level .

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
