Likes
- There's very few things I like about my college, first is the faculty. The teachers in my department are very good, organised and friendly.
- Zakir Hussain college provides us with many opportunities to connect. Example fests, social gatherings etc
- The architecture, despite being dirty, is vast enough and there are lots of greenery and vegetations.
Dislikes
- Some teachers are unorganised, they don't tell us beforehand if they are taking leaves or not, which cost is our money and time to travel to the college.
- A lot of violence and chaos specially during the time of any festival, occasionor election
- The unoperationalised new building, its been so many years that the new building has not come to use. The classrooms we use are really small for the strength of the class.
Course Curriculum Overview
I really like reading and writing so I chose to study English literature in my graduation, the course takes us through different writing of different writers presented of different times. To me the area of improvement should be that we should be studying more indian writers rather than west writers. And the teaching methods should also include more practical learning rather than just a talking and listening session. We should be visiting places related to literature. The timings of the exams are major problem , they don't give us enough time to prepare.
Fees and Financial Aid
I study in Delhi University's Zakir Hussain Delhi college and currently pursuing English Hons, I am in second year. Zakir Hussain college is known for its violence and chaos, there has been a hike in fees from the last year, the only thing that's good here is the faculty only. The architecture of the college is dirty and the new building is still new from the past years, it hadn't been inaugurated to use.
Campus Life
My overall experience is nice with my college, I don't hate my college and neither I love it. The faculty is nice , I have great group of friends and every other person is actually very sweet here , except the people who are in politics per se. The clubs also have various diversity and inclusion. Sports and extra curricular activities are also being performed here. Quillers group and other student run social groups are also there, and they impact our lives in many ways
Admission
I got this college through cuet, in spot round. I applied for many north Campus colleges but I got this. First I got Italian honours in the faculty of arts north Campus, but it was totally a waste of money and time for me , later i applied for different colleges and I got Zakir Hussain college in spot round
Faculty
The faculty of our department , English honours,per se is very good, friendly and organised,except from some teachers, they taught us with practical learning as well. But some teachers are really tough to handle, they are very chaotic, they Didn't tell us about their leave which waste our money and time to travel to college. As about the exam pattern, exams are moderate, everyone is able to pass the exam.
