Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The Extra curriculum was always fun part for the most. Being assigned the projects and assignments that gives us an idea about research and adding your research to your project or assignment prepares you for the real world challenges.

Internships Opportunities

4

We were provided with paid internship offer with stipend of 5500 rupees, the good thing about the internship is the flexible hours you are given to work 8-10 hours per week. First semor first year students aren't eleigible for this internship after that we were. The maximum period of internship is 6 months, also at the end of internship you can get certificate from the Dean of Student's welfare.

Placement Experience

3.5

Basically we were given placement in last year of our college, there were centres of the university where we were called for interview. There was Axis Bank and Wipro company where we were offered placement with initial salary of 17k as freshers. After getting my degree i am planning on going for Masters in ENGLISH.

Fees and Financial Aid

In the first year we had to pay about 5500 rupees for two semesters, that is the annual fee, and then on it kept on decreasing and i had to pay just 4500 rupees for the rest of the 4 semesters. At our time the registration fee was 500 rupees that is also our admission fee. We were not asked to pay any extra fee for anything except when it comes to complementary exam then we had to pay 200 rupees for per exam that we miss.

Campus Life

4.5

The Campus life at DU has always been amazing and enjoyable, my college was in the North Campus of Du and they say some of the best colleges od DU is in North Campus thats for sure indeed. But i can guarantee all the colleges in DU are best providing best environment for students

Admission

I always wanted to study in any college of Delhi Univeristy, its been my dream since 11th class. i wasn't really specific about my college, if i had option to choose another college i would have beacause it would also come under delhi university.

Faculty

The teachers are good and experienced that give perfectly the knowledge we need to acquire. So there are three categories in discipline courses-Discipline Specific Elective, Discipline Specific Core course, Generic Elective. DSC- This is mandatory to choose,For example-Ba (hons) History, BCOM (Hons) DSE- This courses needs to be choosen from DSC course that you chose. For example- For pursuing BSc (Hons) Chemistry you need to choose Chemistry as your DSE course GE- this provides multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary education to students. the there is Ability Enhance Course or Skill Enhancement Course that aims at improving skills. About the difficulty of exam-The level of questions are from moderate to tough though it also comes easy sometimes. there are basically 5 questions each of 15 marks and in some question you are also given options.Handwriting matters while writing the asnwer. If you wrote a good answer plus you've written a lot then there are high chances you'll pass

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
