Course Curriculum Overview

4

Well it's been 1 year and I think my course curriculum is going pretty well. It's not that much tough and yet interesting. Well I can't say how this course provide real world applications or not till now but yes it's interesting. I don't have any suggestions for improving this curriculum as I don't find any fault in it. Yeah the exam happens only once in a semester which are totally based on previous year question and it's not much difficult to score 7cgpa

Fees and Financial Aid

Hi, I'm in second year of my college and paid a fees of around 19k this year but I also have to pay a examination fees which depends on exam but roughly it costs 2k. In my 1st year I payed a fees of 18k approx and paid a total 3k for my 1st and 2nd sem exams. I don't have any subject that requires lab so yeah I didn't paid any fees for lab and apart from that there is not any other charges. My batchmate who is bfrom general category paid a fees of 21k approx and one who's SC paid fees of Apart from this my college didn't provided me any particular internship but yeah we do get internship messages in our college group but there's no on campus internship thing.

Campus Life

3.5

I must say that in DU clubs are very very active, each college have atleast 7 clubs and all are active and provide numerous opportunities to students. Every club has its own small fest in ayear like euphony of finance and investment club and many more, there's a pretty good collection of books in DU. Computers are well maintained too and everything that's required is there. DU is very active in sports category, we have football, volleyball and kabbadi practice everyday and we even go to competitions. no no such students run anything on their own

Admission

I got admission in my college from cuet examination. After getting a score from cuet exam i applied for DU councelling which was CSAS ( common seat allocation system) in which firstly we have to make a preference sheet since DU has more than 80 colleges , we have to make coll8and course preference, we can make any number of preferences. After making preference results of 1st round comes where students gets their college allocated. Students who are unhappy with their college and upgrade and who are happy can accept the seat. There are 2 or 3 rounds for such seats. Personally I didn't got a better college because of my marks. I applied for Chandigarh University but because of fees issued I finalized DU over CU

Faculty

3

Well I'll say that the faculty of my college is very very average like some professor are good but majority of them are not at all concerned about students. Some just come teaches and go , some don't even bother to come in classes. Some teachers are very KHADUS they don't even take assignments even if deadline is missed by one or two days. Some teachers take tests strictly and some very linently they don't even bother to check whether student is using phone or not. Well all types of teachers are there but majority of them is average. In my class the faculty to student ratio is 1:32 , some faculties are very approachable. If you tell them the genuine reason of being your absent in their ass they even put attendance but some don't even listen to students. Well the faculty i didn't like is astha ma'am in my college because she is very very strict than an average prof and also she's not approachable to many students. Harish sir and Hari om and yeah Manoj sir are best from my course.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

I wanted to do PhD in Political Science but due to percentage I took up BA program. Teachers used to provide notes but mostly I used to be off. There was nothing wrong with the college. Exam timings were good.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
