Course Curriculum Overview
I chose to pursue my graduation in physics because i was intrigued by the subject and how it teaches you problem solving skills which you can apply in the real world as well. In Delhi University it is one of the best college for my course after hansraj because of the facilities, even though it's considered an off campus college.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am currently pursuing Bsc(H) Physics from Acharya Narendra Dev College of Delhi University, with a batch size of around 45-50 students. Here's my experience so far: The college provides good environment for studies since its primarily a science-focused institution. Apart from science courses the only other program is Bcom. The labs are well-equipped with devices which is essential for hands on learning. The fee structure is very affordable. For my course the annual fee is ?12000 approximately including tution charges, development charges, lab fee and others, but it may vary depending on the program you chose. The campus is small but clean and well maintained. While it's not very spacious, the facilities available are decent. One of the highlights of the college is the availability of scholarships opportunities for students be it through administration or the societies in the college. Additionally, foriegn language classes are offered with and extra fee, which is a great option for students looking to enhance their skills. For academics the college is excellent, but extracurricular activities are just average. If you are primarily focused on studies, this college is a good choice.
Campus Life
Last year the annual fest did not happen because there were some arguments between the council and the administration. We do have our departmental fest though. There's a BOOKWITHUVA office in the college which is basically a startup by our seniors where we can get any stationary item at lower than market prices. The library also has a good variety of books. The sports experience is kinda average as the basketball court is bad and there are not much good facilities for that.
Admission
This college had the courses I wanted to apply to and it's known for its good facilities for the science stream be it good faculty members or equipped labs. My original plan was to get into commerce department and switch streams but then i realised i can complete my graduation in physics and then still change the stream.
Faculty
The faculty in our department is friendly and extremely helpful. We also have an assigned mentor per 5 students for guidance. The classes are conducted timely. We have our end sem exams only and in between there are test and assignments conducted with internal practicals as well. The exams are not too difficult to clear if you are atleast an average student.
Interview Experience
No there was nothing like that. No interviews, no group discussions, or anything the admission was totally based on your CUET score And for some it, was there sports quota or other arts quota. This is a DU college.
Night Life
The college is located in govindpuri near kalkaji and CR park area. There are some good hangout spots in kalkaji food street and some famous locations like isckon temple and lotus temple are not so far from the campus for visiting.
