Course Curriculum Overview
I was a PCM student so that is why I opted for Maths Honours, as I find it intriguing and interesting. We're taught advance mathematics and also it's applications. We've been taught EXCEL too, which prepares us for office works in the future.
Internships Opportunities
As I am a first year - first semester student, I haven't thought about it nor I have any knowledge about compaines, internships and stipends. I think I'll be able to know after I complete a year at the college.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am a student in Vivekananda College (W), UoD. My college provides two honours courses. The fee is 16000 for the BSc courses. There were no extra fees taken other than from the yearly fee. The fee is same for everyone, irrespective of their caste, gender or religion. The examination fee is, however, different for each student, as it depends on the number of practical subjects you've opted for. One of my friends, from B.A (prog) Computer science+English, pays fee of 16000 too. There are a few scholarships available for the students. Most of them are for the children of the non-teaching staff, other than that, some of them are of students with good academic reputation and attendance.
Campus Life
My overall experience of the college is great. Facilities, infrastructure and ambience everything is top-notch. Fests are held many times in a year. Generally the fest are held from February to April. There are every type of books available in the library, one can go and study. Sports and Taekwondo is offered in our college. There are many clubs and societies concerned with every type of field, one with interest can join.
Admission
Delhi University is a celebrated university all across the world. The combined entrance exam which is CUET is the exam which grants us admission in DU. The college is allotted through a process and the allocation is dependent upon the CUET and class 12th scores. My college is an off campus one, but I opted for this one because, the academics and studies are better at off campus colleges in comparison with on campus colleges. I did apply to Banaras Hindu University (BHU) but was unable to clear the cutoff.
Faculty
The faculty members of my department are great. They are all university toppers of their batches. They know how to impart knowledge properly, and are gravely helpful towards the students. The faculty members I like are Mrs Anju Nagpal, Dr. Sandhya Jain, Dr. Shivani Dubey, Dr. Anchala Paliwal and Mr. SK Yadav. They teach us so nicely, it makes us grasp every concept clearly. Class tests are easy. Everything comes from the syllabus.
Night Life
As I am in Delhi, and I am concerned my safety first, I do not roam around at night. Whatever and wherever fun we want to have, we roam in the day time and return back before it turns dark. Safety Comes First!
