Course Curriculum Overview

4

The job is quiet for sure after doing this course thats why i chose this course. Ok, so about my course, you have to remember everything that has been taught and it will prepare you for the real world. Teachers have teach with patience and without any partiality. Not like if one of the student ask something and they made a face lowering his comfidence about the ask question. We are studying in another and not our birth langauge they need to understand it while teaching. The frequency of the exams are semester exams, they are conducted at the end semester. And about their diffculty is average. Sometimes Some are easy and most of time they are not.

Fees and Financial Aid

My college fees in 1st year was ?6000 but in 2nd year it is ?8000 i believe it will increase in third year also. Caution fees will be 2000, registration fee 1100. My friend who is SC, his fee in 1st year was 1000 and in 2nd year 7000. There are french embassy scholarship, spanish gov scholarship, german academic exchange service and 2 or more

Campus Life

2

We dont have any festivals just a day called french day where we have perform singing, dancing etc but all in french. The day held after every 2 semesters. The range and availability is good in the library you can find related books related to your course. Technological provisions are good within the classrooms. Extracurricular activities are none to 0 beacuse we dont have any societies or clubs.

Admission

My first choice was fine arts, college of art, delhi university. My cuet marks were good but we had to give a practical exam which went wrong. My second choice was any Hons. language course and before giving the practical exam for fine art, i got selected for french Hons. I didn't choose this over any other college because i wanted this course and it was only available in my faculty. So, there were none other options. First we have tp give common entrance exam for delhi university then as i got selected i had to pay the course fee through SLC portal after they confirmed my admission and i was added to a whatsapp group. The cutoffs depends upon the course and college you are choosing for example SRCC's cutoff os 96.8% for B.COM Hons. And for my course and college it was around 81%. Tbh i was pretty disappointed after coming here because it doesn't look like a college at all

Faculty

1

Approchable. THEY ARE NOT. Many of seniors are going through er/ab issues but they are not doing anything and just blaming students even one of my seniors filed a report against it but nothing happened. I do really like my faculty, faculty of arts. Its good to sit in winters and spring in the faculty when everyone is chattering and there is hustle bustle. I like those moments about the faculty a lot. And i don't know about the other faculty. There are 7 exams in total. 4 are core subjects and the three are VAC, SEC and AEC. These three exams are easy to pass depending on the subject that you choose by youself every semester but the main 4 are pretty difficult. 1/4 pf the students fail exams every semester. The curriculum is relevant according to our course.

Night Life

5

The campus is safe at night to roam around especially for girls. There are many good cafes around the campus and markets like kamla market where you can go and hang out with your friends at different places like DIY, mcdonald's, theobroma, night owl donuts, dominos and also a biryani at just near our campus. Campuses are mostly open from 6 am to 1am. You can find stationaries nearby and also some accessories amd even books.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
