Course Curriculum Overview

4

As history hons is not that much demanding but yah it's a good one if you are having interest to know more about past , human evolution and to know more about world you can definitely option it. I would suggest that college authority should take students on historical tour and other visits also

Fees and Financial Aid

As I am in Sri Guru Teg Bahadur khalsa college of Delhi university and I am here from Sikh quota but fees of both the groups either of Sikh students or general students are same is about 25000of our department which is history of per annum and also I am living in a hostel and I pay about85000 for it which includes food as well

Campus Life

5

Our college usually have a fest which is LASHKARA and it's a prominent one which usually focus on punjabi culture and punjabi traditions .Our library system is too good and wide range of books are available and can get issue them by jisylt showing our id cards .Classes are well equipped with a projectors and are air conditioners are also available .here students with sport quot get their respective perks on gym and academics and get extra benefits in academic .our societies are very good in college such as confero junto and other social organisations

Hostel Facilities

5

Our hostel room is spacious and is of three sharing room it is having air conditioners but no geyser facilities available there are timings when hor water comes in winter. Also a attached washroom is available with all the rooms . We are provided with four me meals in a day which is breakfast ,lunch , snacks and dinner quantity and quality both are upto mark and are healthy to have. After the admission forms are out for hostel and we have to register for it accordingly we get the hostel also it's not too affordable but yes it's safe and right for girls

Admission

As to get into we have to clear the entrance of CUET so whoever passes the cut off can get into it and I only applied for Delhi university and I get into it but I applied for bcom honour but couldn't get into it due to its high cut off and hisg demand but now I am happy to get history hons as I am going to prepare for government exam

Faculty

5

All over the faculties of Delhi university are best . In our history department of sgtb khalsa college I would like to say that Tarun kumar sir is best he is our teacher of ancient History and he guided us well as well as for semester exam and for other exams . Other is Roopam mam she is professor of history of usa and she is soo sweet and jolly in nature all the students love to study from her next is shivam sir he is professor of social formations and he is partially blind still he stunned us with his teaching skills

Night Life

4

We have a very beautiful place in our campus which is Jannat area and we usually sit there and chill with our friends also we usually hangout in canteen and ground area for relaxation and to have some fun . For coffee we usually prefer Nescafe which is in our college itself and it's our often visit place .As our hostel in time is 7:00 so we can't get out after tat so not aware about nisht hangout places

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
