Course Curriculum Overview

5

Department of Economics, Janki Devi Memorial College, Delhi University organised International Conference on Economic Development in Contemporary India: Theory, Practice and Experience during 23-24 September 2024.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is 3350 year wise. I take admission in 2018 There are no tution fees . Batchmate fees are also same. I pass out on 2021 with the first division. All of that the fees structure are also good for middle class people

Campus Life

5

JDMC is a lovely college. The campus is clean and it's like an oasis of greenery in an otherwise concrete jungle. Its peaceful and very well maintained. The principal of the college is an awesome human being, a rare combination of strength, resilience and compassion. Covid protocols are strict adhered to over here. Wishing I was a student to go back and enjoy life on the campus

Admission

The college is actually considered as an girls only off campus. The campus is walk by distance from Karol Bagh Metro Station, which is the nearest metro station. Also, the campus is pretty blue and well maintained, even if that's an off campus. Filled the lawns and sidewalks with flowers and variety of plant species. The college gives an old school vibe while walking through the veranda. The cafeteria's food is good

Faculty

One of the best college of Delhi University. It's a women college of West Delhi. Nearest metro station to visit here is Karol Bagh. And nearest bus stop is JDMC College/ Karol Bagh. The infrastructure as well as the greenary of the college is very beautiful and well maintained. There's a hostel inside the college which is called Krishna Hostel.

Night Life

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

I wanted to do PhD in Political Science but due to percentage I took up BA program. Teachers used to provide notes but mostly I used to be off. There was nothing wrong with the college. Exam timings were good.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
