Course Curriculum Overview

5

The history department is good in itself and i am interested in this subject so i choose this. This course provide the real world experiences because of the faculty, the professors teaches this subject in the comprehensive method,it feels like we are experiencing the history in real life. The only thing which can be improved is to teach in some digital form also because of the transition of traditional into digital method, which can make the subject more interesting. The exams held on the basis of semester system, each semester is of 6 months. The exams are moderate level.

Placement Experience

4

From the 4th semester, students started securing their positions in the placement of various well renowned companies. For the professional courses, the chances of placements are higher.Since,i am not interested in placement,i want to prepare for the government jobs like ssc and upsc.

Fees and Financial Aid

Currently,i am pursuing bachelor of arts(history) and in the first year i paid approx 12000 fees for the whole year.It included registration fees, admission fees, tuition fees, caution fees, lab fees and all other compulsary charges.Being a general category student i paid this fees, for the other categories it can be some relaxation in the fee structure. For the other courses of honours, there is a slight increase in the fees like economics honours the fees is around 13000.For the upcoming years like 2nd and 3rd year of graduation there will be slight decrease in the fees for all courses because it will not include admission fees. Beside this the scholorship is also provided to the needy ones.It is the central university and the scholorship is provided by the university amd give relaxation in the fees.

Campus Life

5

The overall experience of college in terms of campus, sports, extra curricular activities ,clubs societies is best. The du provides all the necessities of students in all the colleges and experinece is best.

Admission

I had applied for delhi university and punjab university,as i only wanted to get admission in some central or state university. Both the universities are well renowned and affordable.I got admission in both the universities but i preferred central over state uiversity. The admission process of Delhi university is the entrance test based which is CUET and the minimum eligibility is to pass class 12th from a single recognized board and pass the Cuet exams with the only subjects which were studied in class 12th.The entrance is of 800 marks and is objective type.Cutoff is actually based on the course and college preferred but 700/800 is good score to get in the best college and course.Beside this, the admission process in the Punjab University is based on the class 12th percentage.

Faculty

5

Since du is known for its faculty, their service and their knowledge. The faculty is rich in knowledge and there is no lack of faculty over the students. The arts, science and commerce faculty is good in du,the law faculty is incredible,it is easy to access them in any difficulty or to solve the query. They have the best knowledge of their subjects.Their is no such disliking faculty in du because the whole faculty is the charm to du.There are 7 exams on an average:3 for the discipline specific (core subjects),general electice(ge),ability enhancement couse(aec),skill enhancement cource(sec) and value additional course(vac). The exams are moderate in the difficulty level and on an average 80%students can pass the exams and 20% fails to do so.

Night Life

5

The whole campus is best to hangout if the circle is nice. The cafeteria of colleges hold millions of memories and the public area of college after the class seems to be the best environment for roaming into the college,The indoor games and gym area of the college also filled with memories of students after bunking the class or the class is over.

Other Applied Colleges

Punjab university | Bachelor of arts

As a backup because it is the best renowned state university

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
