Course Curriculum Overview

5

honestly, i'm more than satisfied with the faculty i have. my professors are so learned, so knowledgeable and it pretty much explains why they are where they are today. i was always inclined towards this field of study, and after coming to DRC, i'm confident about making a wise decision. considering the difficulty level of exam, i would rate it a solid 7/10. if one is decently prepared, exams won't be much of a hassle.

Fees and Financial Aid

the fees has to be paid annually or in installments. however, for the first year which is the first two sems, fees has to be paid all at once before the session begins. i believe, scholarships are available but as i do not meet the eligibility criteria, i did not opt for one.

Campus Life

5

the official annual fest of DRC is called Manjari. it's usually held in march/april. other than that, there are a lot of departments. their fest happens usually in between feb-april. considering the technological provisions, the classes have functional lights and fans unlike other typical govt infrastructures. the college and the campus has always some or the other event going on which keeps students engaged throughout. DRC has bunch of active societies to cater all the interests students have.

Admission

so, i was always clear about getting into a central university. getting into a pvt was never in my option. so, ofc, i gave CUET. i applied for JNU, DU, BHU and JMI. i got into all of them but i choose DU because of a set of reasons. #1, I was getting north campus and this campus has the best minds of the country. #2, the crazy exposure this campus has to offer always attracted me.

Faculty

5

the faculty is relatively enough to cater students available. the faculty that so far, i've got the opportunity to study with have been extremely helpful. as far as the exams are concerned, since DRC falls under DU, it follows exam patterns like the other DU colleges. we've two semesters in a year and each semester has a mid-sem exam and an end-sem exam. in DU, there are no theory papers in mid-sem, instead, a series of internal evaluation is carried out which includes IA, CA, attendance, assignments.

Interview Experience

5

there were no GDs or PI conducted. admission is done solely on the basis of CUET. preparing for CUET is extremely easy as the entire syllabus is of class 12th itself so one must have studied the class throughly and focus just on pyqs and time management.

Night Life

5

the college closes at 5:30 pm. i'm not a hosteller, however, the hostel in time is 7 pm sharp. as far as the north campus is concerned, the residential areas near the colleges are pretty much lively at night, especially the areas kamala nagar and vijay nagar. honestly, i dont know if vijay nagar even sleeps at all! it's always crowded and full of life.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
