Course Curriculum Overview

4

History my subject is relevant for me as I want to pursue journalism at some point in my life. I have two options for myself that are either taking psychology or journalism and I do pursue psychology as my general elective subject that will provide me a diploma by the end of my graduation so I can continue with masters in the same . So my subjects do work for me as history too provides me with the knowledge that I need to pursue journalism just in case I want to.

Internships Opportunities

3

The internship opportunity that we usually get to hear about is the maintenance and museology related. It offers internships on historical places as well. Our course does provide internship opportunities in guides as well for places and also as planners.

Fees and Financial Aid

It is 14000 per year and it is the same for everyone of my course. However, we do have to pay for our semester exams that is about 1500 depending upon the course again. Reservations do work on the fee structure of the yearly income of the child's family is less than or is upto 100000.

Campus Life

4

The college is overall a good one as it does include all sorts of festival celebrations regardless of any religion. There are societies for every cultural activities and also different regions like the north eastern states. There are all sorts of sports played in the college campus that include volleyball, football, basketball, cricket, kabaddi and many more.

Admission

The admission process has the entrance exam that is CUET. Children are required to give this exam in order to take admission in Delhi University. I had scored 680 marks in my exams as per the answer key that was released but somehow my result summed upto 630 marks only. This was quite a big issue as I could have got my desired course in one of my desired college but I was denied even that because of this problem.

Faculty

4

I like the faculty as they are very knowledgeable and teach really well. Although I do think that teachers should maintain there relationship with students in a way that they are not really involved in the students personal life considering that this is college and children should be able to take their own decisions and not be burdened by what the teachers require them to do. Also I really like professional people so it would be better if teachers were more professional and that is why I really like one of my skill enhancement teachers because she really maintains her boundaries.

Interview Experience

4

No while the admissions are done via the entrance exam held there are certain extra curricular activities in which the admissions can be taken. These are called the ECA quotas that hold 5 percent of seats in each college of Delhi University. In order to apply under these quotas one has to have number of certificates of their previous records where they have participated in activities. These are held under various categories like the debate speech dance music etc. So during the quota rounds discussions are held within the speech and debate rounds.

Night Life

4

The library is a huge one in our college. It is a place where we can sit relax read and even wait for the time to pass before our next class. The canteen is probably the most visited during college hours. The ground and the building area are also full with children all around. The park is one soothing and relaxing area in our college where I usually go on a bright day during winters.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
