Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose the course that I am currently studing because it helps me prepare for civil services exam and helps me cover alot of my subjects while still being in college. There however should be improvements in the course curriculam by identifying and removing all the unnecessary items and also changing the teaching methods for particular subjects, like those of VAC and SEC and AEC.

Internships Opportunities

3

There is an annual intership fest held in the college by the intership cell of the college wherein various opportunities are provided to students for interships, about which information is provided in the college whatsapp groups wherein the interested students can apply and send there CVs, after which they are called in for interviews, and the selected if the compnies like them.

Placement Experience

3

The average package is about 4,50,000 LPA and the highest package that went was about 28,00,000 LPA. There are more than 100 companies that had partnered with ARSD college as of 2024 and about 240 final placement offers were made, Also the college has a finance and placement cell which helps students with the same and guides them thoroughly.

Fees and Financial Aid

My fees for this year is 17830, which is an increase of about 3000 from the last year. The college does provide fee concessions for the EWS class and the physically challenged. For the detailed fee structure, which includes the tution fee, caution fee etc, which depends onn the various course, please visit the arsd college website fee structure. The for the previous year for my course was about 14,560. Also there is a separate DU exam fee which everyone has to pay for each year exam, which also depends on the course, number of subjects and which category you belong to, which for me was about 300 for the general category.

Campus Life

4

The diwali mela and the annual fest Tide have being to fun and eventful with no major controversies, Also small events now and then do take place that are organised by the various societies and the student union of the college. The infrastructure is decent enough but the lack of ac classrooms and a proper auditorium is there.

Admission

Because my end goal is Civil Services, hence I wanted to get into DU and hence had only applied to the colleges of DU. I received Atma Ram Sanatan DHarma College in my first round of allocations and because at the time this college was ranked 5 in NIRF, and was considered a godd college in the south campus, I locked it in and took admission in this college.

Faculty

3

The faculty of the college is learned and well equipped with knowledge, with everyone being a PhD holder in their respective fields. There are 2 exams, one each after every semester. There are obviously some whom students will find unhelpful and also burden the students with alot of work, but overall the situation not all that bad. One basic thing about DU exams is that we have to write as much as we can, expecially the BA students as each question carries about 12 marks minimum.

Interview Experience

3

No I only gave Common University Enterence Test and the result I received in it determined my admission in this college. The was no interview, no group discussion and no written test especially from the College or DU itself

Night Life

4

The college closes at around 6 pm in the evening and so there isn't any nightlife as such. There is a fully functioning canteen, a nescafe bar, a juice center and a mother dairy booth. There is no hostel in ARSD, also there is no gym. There is a big ground, a few table tennis tables and one badminton net, 2 volleyball nets and a basketball court.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
