Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is relevant for both industry and academic relevance. Teaching methods are quite modern as teachers use ppts to reflect their learning every week there are tutorial sessions for doubt clearing. According to new education policy running since 2022 there are different courses which students can opt for which are different from their main feild these courses are called as Skill Enhancement Course, Value addition course and general elective they hold different credits in the curriculum. But i feel more hand on learning must be incorporated like case studies, real examples, diagrams and flow charts etc. Talking about exams so they are conducted twice a year of different semesters where internal assessment, attendance consists of 25% of the marks. Exams are doable with proper preapration and strategy.

Fees and Financial Aid

As i am a student of Bsc(hons) Mathematics my fee ranges between 9000-10000 annually. For courses like Bachelors of management studies and Bsc(hons) Mathematics it is relatively high which is 17000 and 25000 respectively. The college offers various Scholarship and financial aid programs under Nation Scholarship Program which offers scholarship upto 12000 annually, Delhi University Scholarship which is merit based etc. For different categories such as SCs and STs fee structure is quite low there is a difference of 500-1000 from that of general category fee range.

Campus Life

5

The annual Cultural Fest "Tryst" is organised every year in the month of April this is college's biggest events highlighting artist performances, fashion shows and participations from different colleges. Past performances have include artists like Astha Gill, Millind Gaba, Jassie Gill and many more. Various Departments like Computer Science, Psychology and Mathematics conduct their own departmental fest they organize fun events like hacathons, quizzes, paper presentation and much more. The library is well- furnished and contains new editions of books and research papers. Classrooms are equipped with projectors, and wifi facilities. Labs are modern with updated Linux and Windows System. College has its own Basketball and volleybal court and students actively participate in DU Inter college Tournaments. There are debating, dance and fashion clubs which are run by students, their team organizes different competitions and even participate in them.

Admission

During my admission journey i applied for arioud top teir colleges of delhi university which include Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies and Sri Ram College of Commerce but i could'nt make it there since these colleges had high cut off percentiles. My cuet score was good but not apt for it, alongside colleges were filling up so quickly and i wasn't able to switch my preference window in the given time. Admission process includes Complition of +2 from a recognized board and then clearing cuet ug with a good score. Exam most preferred by student is General test, Quantitative aptitude, english and mathematics as these combinations make up to different courses eligibility. Entire cuet process is conducted under Common Seat Allocation System and then one has to fix his or her seat pay the fees and verify their documents physically in the college.

Faculty

5

The college has a full time teaching staff of around 45 teachers for 2000 students approximately which makes up ratio of 45:1 student teacher ratio. Faculty is cooperative and knowledgeable. Few names of faculty members here are Dr. Ashish Bansal,Dr. Richee Agrawal, Dr. Prama Vishnoi etc. These faculty members are recognized for their academic excellence and student support. If we talk about academic structure each year is divided into two semesters with theory and practical exams also consisting internal and continuous assessment. Exams are moderately difficult though with proper planning and preparation you will be able to ace it. The college currently offers nine different courses aligned properly under Delhi University guidelines and the curriculum emphasizes on both theoretical and practical knowledge.

Night Life

4

Libraries, Cafetarias and Gym is closed on weekend otherwise they function the same way till 5:00 pm. Campus timings is from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, hostel closing timing is 7:30 pm and visitors are allowed only in designated hours, nightout is approved after parents consent and prior permission. Famous hangout places around the college is Nsp, Unity one rohini, Pitampura Haat, Sainik Vihar market which provides delicious food. Pitampura is one of the safe and posh residential areas and thus is safe during nights but it is still advised not to roam around on the streets at night especially on isolated roads.

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.
