History department of Ramjas is considered one of the best. Builds critical, analytical and interpretational skills. Limited scope for applied/ practical exposure. Industry connect is weak compared to STEM courses. It can be improved by linking of multidisciplinary courses like History with law, pol sc, economics, sociology Greater use of case studies, group projects, digital tools like GIS mapping Encourage guest lecture from historians diplomats policymakers

One of the biggest DU fests held in Feb- March. Hosts star nights, theatre, dance and performances by well known singers and bands. Every department organises own cultural and academic fests . Technical & science fests are also held. Ramjas library is among the largest in DU with over 1.1 lakh books & thousands of journals. Reading rooms, e-resources, photocopy. Classrooms have projectors and blackboards. Limited seats fro boys and girls in hostel. 1or 2 seats in each department. I secured 1 seat in hostel and the experience was good. Sports facilities- basketball, volleyball, cricket, shooting, indoor sports, etc are amazing Shunya, wordcraft are renowned societies for drama, literature respectively. Enactus students club for for social work. Active social media pages Overall infra has improved

Admission

My my preferences were- St. Stephen's , Hindu, LSR and Ramjas college. I got confirmed admission in Ramjas. In other colleges I was getting other courses but my preference was History hons in my preference. Since, I got Ramjas which had best history department I took admission. Ramjas cut off are little lower compared to the colleges I mentioned. On basis of CUET score one can get admission.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
