What Students Say
Likes
- The faculty is well-known and highly regarded among the students of Delhi University. It is one of the top colleges within DU, with a strong overall reputation and a variety of active societies that are both popular and helpful.
- The college places strong emphasis on sports and is deeply committed to it, with many renowned players, from state-level athletes to Olympic medalists, among its alumni.
- The college also has a vibrant political life, making it one of the most politically active colleges in India.
Dislikes
- Some areas need improvement, such as the canteen and the quality of drinking water.
- Too much muscle power and money power are displayed, and no proper controls are in place. Instead of focusing on academics, the college has slowly become a breeding ground for political parties.
- Sometimes classes are irregular, and there is a lack of proper transparency at times.
Course Curriculum Overview
It has a space for practical knowledge the course which I am studying pol scn hons itself has a department which itself is prestigious and also hosts events frequently also it has a journal which is recognised internationally and the faculty teaching is done more practical linked with real world rather than text book content directly taught
Internships Opportunities
Internships of wide range of opportunities are provided here Ranging form working under different ministers as well as in finace sectors Also edtech companies and ngo works are the most frequent recruiters for interning.
Placement Experience
Placements are offered with a median of 6 LPA, the highest at 24 LPA, and a gross value of 9 crores, with an average package of 7.5 LPA and more than 110 recruiters. Job offers are given mostly to final-year students, and internships are also offered widely in the college with an average stipend of ₹15k. Job offers are majorly in Audit (40%), followed by Finance (30%), and 15% each in Business Development and other sectors. My plan is to apply for higher education or upskill and work in companies dealing either in finance and policy, or even both together.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for most BA courses is around ₹16,098, generally ranging between ₹14k and ₹18k. BSc and other commerce courses also have a similar fee structure, averaging around ₹23k per year. Additionally, DU provides scholarships based on family income: students with an annual income of less than ₹4 lakh are eligible for a maximum scholarship of ₹15k, while those with an annual income of less than ₹8 lakh are eligible for up to ₹10k.
Campus Life
Just recently joing the college what i have know about ramjas is that it has been vibrant with 25plus societies and also helps an annual fest called mosaic also it has libraries that provide wide range of books and has many student run organisational support as well as strong party based programmes and initiatives . Know to be one of the most active colleges in delhi politically and academically.
Admission
I had written cuet and also applied to St Xavier mumbai and since I had no hopes in cuet due to normalisation and opted for mumbai but it was before results coming out and in Mumbai there were only programmes , honours must be done seprately and political exposure is less compare to delhi . For admission here cuet must be written and for delhi especially ba courses cut off goes high since top hundred colleges always in India are dominated by du colleges and i ha dscored pretty decent in my cuet. With the release of results and I had the eligibility for Colleges like kmc , sri venkteshavwara and ramjas I chose ramjas to have more flexible schedules as well as gain a better political influence as compared to other colleges . I had placed hindu but due to high cut offs i didn't qualify for that mark. Du has the easiest admision criteria the csas one which was smooth and easily done with mh allocation by phase 2 itself
Faculty
It's well know for arts and sciences as well as has a reputation for many prestigious pass outs from the college. It is easier to gain good pol exposure from the college. Political science is one of the top faculties in college and making it one of the most demanded in du as well as bcom and the college has a well know faculty. Also it has a journal realised under the pol scn department which is internationally recognised. Exam takes place with assignments and tests for internals and at last end sem exams under university
Night Life
Nearby areas include Kamla Nagar, GTB, Civil, MKT, and Hudson. These are student-dominated areas, with Kamla Nagar being a hotspot for major fast-food chains and other cafes. Hudson is also known for its many cafes. MKT, or Majnu Ka Tila, is a place worth visiting to experience oriental cuisine as well as Eastern culture. The area is well-connected with a metro station nearby, and being in North Campus, it has some of the top colleges in India, making it accessible for students to meet each other. Hostels and other PG accommodations are abundant in the area. Most shops close by 12 midnight, but there are provisions such as 24/7 cafes and supermarkets available.
