Course Curriculum Overview

4

I liked Economics as a subject in my class 12th and I choose this course for my undergraduate degree. I really liked the curriculum as it includes both practical knowledge and theory too. It's not theory heavy. Course includes some real life problems that I can relate very well..

Placement Experience

3

I actually don't have much idea about the numbers but i know one thing for sure that for my course , there are good placements provided by my college and after getting my degree i am looking forward to continue with my dream of MBA ( HR ) or maybe if i get placed somewhere .. i might continue there.

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid ?32100 for opting the course of Bachelor of Arts(honours) Economics. I think it is very affordable, reasonable fees for any undergraduate program. I have not applied for any scholarship yet. It's very affordable for middle class people like me.

Campus Life

5

I like my college campus as it's very peaceful. The girls are very friendly here. Jalsa and manjari event takes place and they are in large scale, very enjoyable events. There are various societies and clubs and events, seminars frequently takes place.

Admission

I applied for DU and made my preference list. I had other north campus colleges like SRCC , LSR , ST.STEPHEN , HINDU , HANSRAJ , KIRORI MAL OVER DAULAT RAM for eco hons. And i got selected in DRC for eco hons. I applied for upgrade but due to no upgrade my seat got comfirmed in DRC . I don't regret my choice of studying in Daulat Ram College for my degree in economics. I am really fascinated by college's past experiences and it's friendly environment.

Faculty

2

Faculty is very nice and supportive. Regular based internal and class assesments takes place. Exam level is moderate. Assignments are also given to revise the concepts. Doubts session and tutorials takes place on consistent basis.

Night Life

3

There is Kamla Nagar near my college, that is a very good and reasonable place for hanging out with my friends. I live there in PG. Also, I have food stalls near my college that is very tasty and affordable. There are many cafeterias like Hudson lane.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
