Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course because i was able to get a good college in north campus because of comparatively low cutoff for this course. The curriculum is very helpful for my upcoming future plans and it will be fruitful enough for my further academic persuits. I think they should try to minimize the syllabus a little bit as it burdens the student because of its difficulty level and vastness. I think if prepared good enough, the exams would not feel too difficult or non doable. I guess the time given is enough as per the length of exams.

Internships Opportunities

3

It is just my 1st semester in this college so i have not yet explored the intership side of college and not at all aware about it. Even though i have heard that yes there are intership opportunities provided in my college with quite good stipend of approx 10 to 12 thousand rupees per moth.

Placement Experience

3

I think students become eligible for campus placements in 5th semester as now they are mature enough to be given such responsibility and to secure their future. I am not aware about the number of companies and offers. I am also not aware about the highest or lowest package offered but the average package for my college is ?6.5 lakhs per annum. The cgpa should be above 7.5 for better chances of getting placements. My plan is to get a good college placement in starting of the 5th semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

So i paid a total of ?32500 approx for this year 2025-2026 as my 1st year in this college and now ?1210 as my examination fees for semester 1. I am not aware of different kinds of fees charged or any compulsory charges if taken. The fees of my batchmates being from any category i think is same as that of me. Speaking about the scholarships, i have not tried to avail any and also i dont know about any either. My course is BA(H) economics and i think it would cost a person around ?35000 considering all the charges and fees and all other miscellaneous expenses required for readings and stuff.

Campus Life

4

The festivals that take place in my college are diwali fest that was held in october and the annual college fest that will take place in may or june. The accesibility for the books and journals available in the library is very nice. We can easily take whatever book we need but speaking about the range, there is not so much material in the library. The classroom facilities are good, both white and blackboards are there and also technological privisions are provided which makes it easy to learn. The sports and extracurricular activities that are offered in the campus is the gym facility and the ground provided with the basketball courts and a large space to play outdoor games like badminton etc. Their are many societies in the college which helo students to improve their skills.

Admission

I only applied for the colleges in delhi university because i was sure that i will be able to score well and get myself enrolled in one of the best colleges from north campus. Even though there were a few colleges on the list above my present college like hansraj, srcc, hindu, miranda etc. I chose them above mine because they are better in many aspects than my college. Yes i got rejections from all the colleges that were on the list above my college because i was unable to cross their cutoffs because i scored less than what was required to take admission there. The admission process is a bit complicated, firstly we had to fill forms for cuet then the datesheet and admit cards arrived, then we had given our exams and then after getting results we had to make our preference list and then according to the cutoffs our colleges were alloted.

Faculty

3

I am not aware about the faculty-student ratio but the relationship is quite nice. Every single faculty is approachable. The faculty i liked the most is my maths teacher MS.AKANSHA because of her teaching style and due to her strictness towards the best learning and simultaneously her care for the students makes her the best faculty. Some faculties i didnt like enough are MS.POOJA KHANNA and MS.POOJA SHARMA because of their carelessness regarding the studies and teachings. They do not try their best to provide students with the best learnings and always ends up showing their disinterest in making teachings interesting and understandable for students. Their are many different exams such as CA, IA, mid sems and now final exams. Idk about final exams yet but can say that other ones were quite difficult which is also somewhere because of my course. No one has yet failed to clear the exams and i think the relevancy for course curriculum is right.

Night Life

2

Gym is nice. Cafeteria is one of the best things in my college as it provides with the best services. I am not aware about hostel tikings but the college starts at 8 am approx and closes at 5 pm maybe. Famous hangout places inside my college are the cafeteria and the garden and outside my college are the food stalls that provide with the tasty food with affordable prices for the students. Also i am not at all aware about the night life of my college because i have not experienced it yet.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
