Course Curriculum Overview
I have a keen interest in theoretical subjects. Even in my school time, I liked theory subjects more than practical or numerical subjects. This is one of the reason I chose this specific course. Another reason is that I like reading non fictional novels. At the age of 15, I started reading novels but after diving into this course I'm liking the fictional novels too. I don't think this course needs to improve anything. It is in it's best form at the point.
Fees and Financial Aid
I'm currently enrolled in BA (Hons) English at Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi. My tuition fees is Rs. 32,100/- and as my subject is theoretical I don't pay any lab fees (SC). Yes, our college offers scholarship programs and fee concessions.
Campus Life
Seva Sankalp Mahotsava, our diwali festival recentally held at the college campus. We enjoyed a lot . We've had jamming sessions, food stalls, shopping stalls, Garba night , DJ and many more. We'll be having our college fest i.e. MANJARI in February and they say it is the most exciting fest.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel provides us with maximum all facilities like laundry, reading room, computer lab, study tables, common washrooms. Only for an attached washroom we have to pay Rs. 40,000 extra and I live in one of the premium rooms with an attached washroom. Trust me, it's so worth it. The nights when you have to go washroom at night,alone, roaming around the corridors, for them premium room is a blessing in disguise. We've had hostel verification process and it's fee is 1,80,000 for normal and additionally 40,000 for premium rooms. Timing is the only issue.
Admission
I, in my first list got this college and freezed it right away. I really liked the course and DRC being in the OG North Campus fantasized me so much. It being the girls college is the win win situation for me as there was no preference of me being in Co-Ed but a college with reputation and good course. Nonetheless, I applied for top colleges of DU and got this. Maybe this was MY destiny.
Faculty
We have bunch of the best faculty members in our department. They are so supportive and understanding. They teaches so well and clear our doubts at the moment whether online or offline. Their are total three subjects in our course and each subject has its own speciality.
Night Life
Our college has a canteen, a Nescafe stall and ab Amul shop. They usually have a good taste in each items but I personally like Uncle ke aloo parathe that is situated just outside our college. Our hostel is situated behind the college and it's timing is 6am to 7:15 pm. My only complaint is for the hostel timings, it's toooo earlyyyyy. We can't even go for an evening walk after the classes. But grateful for the hostelmates I got.
