The placement in campus is mostly in IT companies because the Training & Placement Officer has an IT background and that is where he has connections. The package offered is at par with that offered in other colleges accross India. Non-IT companies do not come for recruitment in Amity, making it difficult for students who want to do a core job.
Amity University conducts separate exams of its own. These exams include basic questions of Physics, Chemistry and Maths from class 12th. Amity is one of the best colleges when it comes to personality development and career opportunities. That is the reoson why I chose Amity.

Course is good. Its a credit based education system, there is flexibility to choose subject. According to your interest you can choose subjects. Few subjects are mandatory. appart from the academic there are so many Non academic and social activities included with the course.
Alumini and their networks are really good. our seniors were really coperative. Of Training and placement office remembers us if there any openings they informs us through emails.our university has launched one social website for us. Almaconnect.
Opinion on campus life is good enough till now. Coming to extra curricular activities means debates, sports will be conducted occasionally. But in my opinion if they are conducted weekly it wiil be good enough. We can have sports daily. Seminars in course good enough, Ok ok.
I didnt wrote any exam for getting admission. I have studied D.Pharmacy so through lateral entry i got b. pharmacy admission in management quota. As i said why i choosed this college is already studied in this college and 2nd best pharmacy college college in city.
There are two major events : one technical (aparoksha) and one cultural(effervescence). The fests are getting bigger year by year but they have a lot to catch up to make it to the level of IITS. Both the events are 4 day events. One of the major events of technical festival is Al-khwarism, online annual coding event of IIIT allahabad. For the last 2 years, winners have been from Russia. So, yes the tech events are big. Cultural is still growing. Daler mehndi, Sona mohapatra, Neha Kakkar, lucky ali have been celebrtities at events in recent years. We have fashion show, dance competitions, drama events. Melodieux and many others during cultural nights. Online treasure hunts, Magnum opus(Project display), Hacking contest are majpor attractions for tech fests.
Campus is well maintained. Full freedom to boys and girls. Piya Milan Chauraha is the best hangout place during nights. Cafeteria, canteen and confectionery within campus only. Full night canteen runs in hostels. Dance party and rock night every semester. basketball courts, tennis courts, swimming pool, squash courts, cricket/football ground all present in campus. Labs fully equipped and maintained. It is one of the few institutes with IC fabrication available in institute. Separate clubs for each activities including robotics, programming, dance, music. 3rd year and 4th year students get a chance to teach juniors in TA fellowship program. This maintains a healthy relationship between seniors and juniors.
PET(pre engineering test ) this is a regional test for chattisgarh domicile students , scored 60% , opted this college as its top college in this state and even opted for various entrance exams but this college is affiliated with the CSVTU which a govt university.
College has its own techfest naming OJAS every its celebrated with great joy and its biggest fest that is being organised nearby and it has various events and contest so that you can compete with students of various colleges nearby.

College life was pretty good. We used to hang out a lot. Participated in extracurricular activities such as quiz, debates. They were regularly conducted in college. Labs facilities were good. Gender ratio was almost equal so there were no such problems. Economic status was bit low. Should upgrade to new technologies in labs.
As i said time is a very flexible in this college. We had internals every 35 to 40 days and exams were conducted twice in a year. Exam structure was very good infact. We also used to pay different exam fees apart from academic fees. We had hectic days as well as chilled days also.

Well if u ask about events, I would always say jamia is surely one of the best. Her in convocation u get the chance to meet the persona like Dalai lama, pranab mukherjee and a lot more Telami mela is one of the biggest event celebrated here as th foundation day. It runs for almost 3-4 days. There are lot more events occuring thrice a month, That boost the confidence of students.
Its actually based on the course you choseAs of btech maruti suzuki might offer a package upto 7 lacs, Tata also spends hefty money to attract students to work for them And for the courses like bachelor of business studies its quite new as the pattern and the syllabus has changed so the's a definite chance of getting higher salary.
La Melange : It is a alumni meet which is held on every year. The invitations are sent to all and the event is held in college campus. This is whole day event in which many cultural programs and plays are held.
Social media like facebook engage alumni to keep in touch. La milange which is organized every year, bring alumni together. Also , college invites bright alumni for the guest lectures.

Internship experience was quite good.I took two internship mandatory course internship. One with MTNL and other with IOCL.You have to search yourself for internship. No companies visited college for internship. No stipend offered.
There were not much companies which visited college. Zeeplin mobile india visited which offered 12000 per month but since it demanded 25000 as training amount so not much student took interest even after getting selected.
Stifend was around 5k to 7k. College itself doesnt take any initives for project only the local comapines lyk persistent, ITC and infotech and others hire interns from the college. Rest of the students manage der internship thereselves using der own talents and contacts.
The course work was really appealing and industry oriented. The library facility is also quite good and equiped. And student really get benifited from them. The course work is flexible as we are given a choice to choose our elective for last ywo consecutive semesters.

The entrance exam is NATA , I scored 89 / 200 This is the only entrance exam to be written if someone wants to become an architect, You need to stay in contact with the site www.manipal.edu You need to register in the college with some fee may be of 600. They will ask you to send your marks list before a specified date They will guide you by sending mail to your concerned email id.
The course which i choose is very hard to teach, as an architect needs creative , asthetic, hardworking, logical and a few other factors to be taken care of, but i feel my college has fullfilled all of them. The course is pre planned by some of the senior most members.Overall i feel that the course planning was done good.

The course is divided in 7 semesters and the exams are also in different phases in form of quizzes, mid terms and presentations on sectors and industries from various subjects. The grading system is designed to have a competitive environment and plays an important part in the learning curriculum. It majorly covers the industry based live case studies and students are expected to offer solutions to these based on their understanding of the industry.
I gave the CAT entrance test and scored 93 percentile and got a call from imt. The group discussion round was case based and post that I had my interview where I was asked questions like why mba, why imt and how much I know about imt other than some general knowledge ques and some questions from my engineering subjects. The interview went well and I was selected for a marketing course which was my first preference.

As i have stayed in college hostel where we interact with seniors most of the day, they used to keep interaction with the juniors and able to help in any circumstances in the college and able to help in any technical assessment. we have conducted alumni for the seniors where we used to get lot of information from them for the outside college life.
As per the college life it was enjoyable and able to attend technical festivals and even girls will be involved with each and everyone in the class. Even we used to attend other colleges where debates and tech-fests happen. There will be no racism and no sexual harassment and no politics in the college.
Fee Structure for my field is not too expensive, but for family earning 15k per month it will be very difficult to manage it. There is no options other than borrowing money from relatives friends etc. which very worst part of life. For study if there is no money then government should atleast do something for that, they need to think about this in detailed.
About Campus, Somaiya campus is best from all the colleges in mumbai. It's very big large and superb. Apart from college life there is a campus life too. Everyday we used to roam around the campus and it feels very relaxed and stressless with natural air, trees all around. About competitions and extracurricular activities somaiya is all time best.
There was no placement cell when we passed out in 1997, we had to ourselves look for jobs which were hard to come by. The best opportunities were available only in agriculture inputs marketing like pesticides, seeds, etc. The packages offered then were around 50k per annum. Now, there is a placement cell and a coordinator who keeps in touch with prospective companies, the packages offered are around 250k now and many agriculture input marketing companies, banks, research institutions hire students and there are only a handful who do not get good placement.
The faculties were good, experienced, qualified & more than willing to share knowledge. They took much pains in imparting knowledge by way of lectures, discussions, practicals, field visits, etc. We studied in a time when digital technology and audio visual aids were not available. The lecturers took great pains in writing the slides for presentations, handing over printed bullet points, at times we took notes in lectures, etc. But we enjoyed to the fullest the personal touch and attention we got. It's not like now a days where there's no personal touch.
CUSAT Engg entrance, My rank in year 2001 was around 3000+, CUSAT campus is the first preference though , I could not get a free seat there.Ours was the 3 rd bacth in CUCEK, Buildings were not in place and infrastructure was not at the best . but beautiful place to be in. Now CUCEK has come a long way with its own buildings and Lab facilities. In 2005 itself all who managed to pass got placed through the placement cell.
100 % placement if you manage to pass.In 2005 multiple companies like Infosys. Wipro, TCS, CTS, Accenture, Siemens etc had come for Campus placement. and In those days itslef they were offerring 1.8 to 3 L per annum.
The course curriculum was very interesting. The entire curriculum of B.TECH was taught in 4 years and, it was very well planned that the 1st year covers all the subjects related to other branches also, because of this we have gained some knowledge on other subjects.
Faculty are the subject matter experts , they used to accept all who enter the classroom door besides if the student is good or bad. They used to teach Teach with a variety of strategies and they have used assessment to inform students of their achievement.
We were totally encouraged by internships we had many research labs established by every departments I have done my internship at a lab which was lead Mr.Allen run who was a proffesor for Massachusetts university boston Usa that was a very good experience and helped me a lot to build by carrer. Moreover we had many options like ibm, Google, ms, infosys, tcs followed by many top most leaders in the industry.
The college holds a very good name in organising events it is popular for its technical as well as cultural fest named promethean and zealots which is organised every year which helps the students to interact with the globally upgrading technolgies.the number of participants during 2009, 2010 were 2500 & 3000.
Faculty in this college os well educated and very helpful plus you can always go to them for your doubts n all. But don't be late on submission. It is bit difficult for student when faculty is so determined.
College has a big event in month of December named as innovation. It contains all the technical as well as non technical games also it celebrates the sports week and ends with cultural day.
The rank i got was 9443 in kerala engg entrance. This was the college i got. I chose computer science because i liked it. You can get admitted if you have a rank under 13000 for a merit seat. For a management seat you have to get under 20000 rank. online allotment will be done according to the rank you got. There are also some NRI seats available which have huge fees. Admission process is pretty normal. Bring all documents for all funds like PTA, Bus fund etc around 7k will be needed.
Exam structure is same as in every CUSAT college. Each semester contains 2 internal exams of 50 marks, one university exam of 100 marks for each subject. Internals are out of 50 marks (25 marks from the internals, 10 for attendance, 15 for assignments). Lab exams will be out of 100 marks ( 50 internal and 50 externals). Lab exams are conducted by the internal faculty, and will have viva questions. Total 14 labs are there.
