As mostly they will prefer the same optional subject for whole batch but selection is good. So will be part of that selection. College administration will not choose the default as this is to happen mostly colleges.
On some courses, the placements & job opportunities really good. but average for overall college. There lot of good placements drives inside campus. Because of the awesome infrastructure most of the big companies come there for placements only. and other college students also join you in these drives some times. Cognizent, L&T, Chema Boilers and many others are regular.

In our times, the fees were pretty affordable, if not justified.VIT is known for extravagant construction and campus facilities so we found it justified to pay for the fees. Also, VIT's fees were only second in India in most famous private colleges, next to BITS Pilani at the time. However, as I remember, VIT increases their tuition fees by 10% every year so it might not be such affordable now.
The course curriculum is very comprehensive and well structured. The management feels responsible to continuously update the course in terms of the latest technologies and industry demand. Courses like Script programming, Graphics, and Cryptography are all part of the course curriculum for computer science students.

Course curriculum is prepared with intense pain to meet the requirements of the industry. Student will be exposed to each and every subject of the particular filed of engineering. Curriculum matches to GATE syllabus so students dont find difficult in clearing GATE exam.
College is having events everyday. There are six societies working hard day and night to deliver three major fests that too at national level. I being the head of technical wing can say its lot to learn in campus.
Placement is good but during recession there has been fall in recruiters but this should be temporary phase. Highest salary offered is to the tune of 5 lakhs per annum and may be more. However I think JU needs to work on this. Merely placing 100% students shouldn't be the target. It should look to leverage its INI status and brand value to attract big companies and not just the ordinary software services firms.
For admissions to the Engineering Faculty at the undergraduate level, students are admitted through the WBJEE, an entrance examination open to students from all over India.

A work placement gives you the chance to gain hands-on experience of the working world and can be invaluable to entering into your chosen career On some courses, work placements are compulsory in order to get your degree, while on others you can opt to do a placement as one of your modules. If this isn't the case on your course then you should still think about arranging a placement. Your careers service should be able to help you with this.Placement was weak & job oppurtunities were limited.
