Eligibility for B.Tech in Carpet and Textile Technology

The candidate applying for the course must complete 10+2 or equivalent examination with minimum 60% aggregate in PCM/PCB. The candidates who have completed a diploma in textile engineering, textile technology or textile chemistry can also apply for this course through lateral entry.

The State Entrance Examination - Uttar Pradesh Technical University is an annual college entrance examination in Uttar Pradesh for engineering, architecture and management courses. All affiliated institutions admit students through centralized counseling of SEE-UPTU. It is one of the highly reputed examinations of India. It has two papers. The syllabus of the examination is based on topics covered by the UP Board, CBSE Board Examination (AISSCE) and the ISC Board Examination, though all topics of the AISSCE and the ISC are not included in the JEE syllabus.

The pattern of questions in the exam is almost fixed. Currently, the examination has objective type question paper for all the subjects and uses machine readable OMR answer sheets. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Direct admissions

Direct admission through management quota is also available in almost all the colleges. Government engineering colleges do not have a management quota so direct admission is not available.

Lateral entry

The candidates who have completed a diploma in textile engineering, textile technology, textile chemistry course can get admission into genetic engineering B.Tech course through lateral entry. The candidates are to start the course directly from the third semester.

Distance Learning

There are no distance learning courses available for B.Tech in Carpet and Textile Technology course. But distance learning courses are available for the similar course such as Textile Engineering.
