CEED 2027 Result: Details Mentioned on Scorecard
The CEED 2027 scorecard is issued as a PDF document released by IIT Bombay. The scorecard can then be downloaded from the official portal.
- The scorecard is the most important document for candidates who qualify for CEED 2027.
- It is required when applying for M.Des and PhD in Design admissions at IITs and other participating institutes.
The CEED 2027 scorecard will contain the following details:

Note: Part B answer booklets are evaluated only for candidates who clear the Part A qualifying cutoff. Candidates who do not clear Part A will be able to see their Part A marks on the scorecard but will not have a Part B score or a merit rank.
CEED 2027 Result: Score Calculation Formula
The CEED 2027 final score is not simply the sum of Part A and Part B marks.
- IIT Bombay uses a fixed weightage formula to compute the composite score, which is then used to prepare the All India Merit List.
- Candidates must understand this formula to accurately estimate their expected CEED rank.
The CEED final score formula is:
CEED 2027 Final Score = (25% of Part A Marks) + (75% of Part B Marks)
Part A is out of 150 marks & Part B is out of 100 marks. Both parts are scaled before the weightage is applied, and the final composite score is out of 100.
The key implications of this formula are:
- Part B carries the majority of the weight (75%), making it the primary rank-determining component.
- A strong Part B performance can significantly improve a candidate's overall rank even if Part A is average.
- Part A acts as a qualifying test, only candidates who clear the Part A cutoff have their Part B evaluated.
- A candidate who clears Part A but performs weakly in Part B can still end up with a low composite score and rank.
- Candidates who do not clear the Part A cutoff will not receive a merit rank & will not be eligible for admission through CEED 2027.
| Part | Maximum Marks | Weightage in Final Score | Role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Part A (Computer-Based) | 150 | 25% | Qualifying test — clears candidates for Part B evaluation |
| Part B (Pen and Paper) | 100 | 75% | Primary rank-determining component |
| Final CEED Score | 100 (composite) | — | Used for merit list and All India Rank preparation |
CEED 2027 Result: Part A Cutoff (Expected)
The CEED 2027 Part A cutoff will be derived using a standard statistical formula based on the mean and standard deviation of all candidates' Part A scores.
- IIT Bombay announces the CEED Part A cutoff only after the exam is conducted.
- The cutoff is expected to be released in the first week of February 2027, about 2–3 weeks after the exam.
The cutoff formula for CEED Part A is as follows:
| Category | Part A Cutoff Formula |
|---|---|
| General / Open | δ = μ + (σ ÷ 2) |
| OBC-NCL / EWS | 0.9 × δ (90% of the General cutoff) |
| SC / ST / PwD | 0.5 × δ (50% of the General cutoff) |

CEED 2027 Result: Tie-breaking Criteria
The CEED 2027 tie-breaking criteria are applied when two or more candidates obtain the same total score in the entrance examination. IIT Bombay follows a predefined process to assign ranks fairly by considering candidates' performance in different parts of the exam.
The tie-breaking rules are used only if candidates secure identical aggregate marks.
- Higher Part B marks: Candidates with higher marks in Part B are given a better rank.
- Higher Part A marks: If the tie persists, candidates with higher Part A marks are ranked higher.
- Further criteria by IIT Bombay: If candidates continue to have identical scores, IIT Bombay may apply additional criteria as specified in the official admission notification.
