Counting Numbers are all natural numbers that can help us to count a certain thing. Counting Numbers start from 1 and continue till infinity. They are infinite and play a crucial role in the Number System in Maths. The sequence for counting numbers is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and so on. Zero (0) is not included in counting numbers as we cannot count 0. Counting numbers can not be a fraction, decimals, or negative numbers. They are always positive in nature. Counting Numbers are the set of numbers that are used to count things around us. All the natural numbers are counting numbers. Counting refers to the process of expressing the number of elements or objects that are given. Examples of counting numbers are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.. and so on. 

  • Counting Numbers are always positive. 
  • Counting Numbers can not be decimals, negative numbers, integers, or fractions

Ans. To find the mean of the first 100 counting numbers, first, add all the numbers and then divide it by 100. 

1 + 2 + 3 + … 100 = 5050

Now, divide the number by 100, that is, 

5050/100 = 50.5. 

Thus, the mean of the first 100 counting numbers is 50.5.

Ques. List the odd counting numbers from 10 to 50.  (2 Marks)

Ans. Odd counting numbers are those numbers that are not completely divisible by 2. Thus, the odd counting numbers from 10 to 50 are 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31, 33, 35, 37, 39, 41, 43, 45, 47, 49.
