NID has released the final result for NID DAT 2020 M.Des courses on August 22, 2020. while B.Des/GDPD results were declared on July 23, 2020. Candidates can check the result of NID DAT 2020 at the official website of NID – admissions.nid.edu. A merit list on the basis of DAT score will be prepared for all the categories (General, OBC-NCL, SC, ST & PH). Prelim Results for M. Des was announced on February 21, 2020. NID 2020 offers admission to qualified aspirants in several undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of design. NID 2020 will be conducted in three stages for M.Des, B.Des and GDPD- DAT written test consisting of prelims and mains. Those who qualify in the written test will be called for Studio Test and Personal Test. The result dates for both the stages have been mentioned below:

The results for DAT Mains for B.Des. and GDPD will be published on the official website on May 31, 2020. Based on DAT score, NID Merit List will be prepared for shortlisted candidates who will, then, be invited for further rounds of screening called the studio test and personal interviews. The Mains result will be released for B.Des/GDPD and M.Des on May 21 and May 2, 2020 respectively. The candidates can follow the below steps to check their results online:
NID 2020 Cut Off will be announced soon after the results are declared. The candidates who score over the cut off will get admission in degree courses in NID Gandhinagar, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and in NID Kurukshetra and Vijayawada for Graduate Diploma Programs in Designs (GDPD). The scores of the last applicants in the first merit list will be considered as the cut off for NID 2020. There will be some relaxation in the cut off for categories with reservations, which is as follows:

|SC||20% less than the cut offs of General category|
|ST||20% less than the cut offs of General category|
|PH||30% less than the cut offs of General category|
National Institute of Design generally conducts counselling during the months of June and July offering admissions into Bachelor of Design (B.Des), GDPD and M.Des. Counselling of NID DAT is held after the three stages of the selection process are completed, Stage 1- Design Aptitude Test (DAT), Stage 2- Studio Test and Stage 3- Personal Interview. The entitlement to admission will not be guaranteed only on the basis of appearance in the entrance test or being in the rank list.
The results of NID DAT prelims is generally announced in the month of February every year. The shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for mains exam to be conducted in the month of May 2020. Final Merit List of NID DAT will be released in the same month i.e. fourth week of May 2020. This is followed by the NID DAT counselling procedure which is held for selected candidates on merit basis.
After online verification of documents, the shortlisted candidates in rank list will be allotted seats provisionally. To be eligible for the next stage of NID 2020 admission process, the qualified candidates will be required to submit their consent online (only). The process for submitting Online Consent starts somewhere around last week of May 2020 and would last for about a week upto June 2020. The merit list updation continuously happens during that time on the basis of online consent submitted by the qualified candidates.
For the purpose of verification, the qualifying candidates, as per the first Merit List, would be required to upload scanned copies of requisite documents. All the relevant documents must be issued in the name of qualifying candidate. The scanned copies of original documents should be strictly in JPEG format only.
Uploaded documents will be verified from the information entered in the NID 2020 Application Form and any discrepancy would lead to cancellation of candidature. Below is the list of relevant documents for which scanned copies have to be uploaded by the qualified candidates for B.Des. and M.Des. Programs (for all categories):
OBC NCL/SC/ST category candidates have to submit valid category certificates which should be issued by appropriate competent authorities in addition to the above.
The scanned copies of the first and last page of Passport and of Equivalence certificate should be uploaded by the Overseas category candidates (both B.Des.or M.Des programs), in addition to the ones mentioned.
