SNAP 2026 (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test) is a national-level MBA entrance exam conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune, for admission to MBA and allied management programmes at 16 of its constituent institutes. What is SNAP 2026?

SNAP stands for Symbiosis National Aptitude Test. Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune, conducts it every year as the gateway to MBA and allied management programmes at its constituent institutes. This is a computer-based test held in three slots in December, and you can appear in more than one slot to improve your score.

More than 70,000 candidates register for SNAP each year. It is one of the key MBA entrance exams in India, especially for those targeting top Symbiosis institutes like SIBM Pune and SCMHRD Pune. Unlike CAT or XAT, SNAP is held exclusively for admission to the Symbiosis group of institutes.

The SNAP score is valid only for Symbiosis institutes. After clearing the exam, shortlisted candidates appear for Group Exercise (GE), Personal Interaction (PI), and Written Ability Test (WAT) rounds conducted by each institute separately.

SNAP 2026: What Has Changed This Year?

SNAP 2026 brings a notable change to the exam pattern. Symbiosis International (Deemed University) has added a brand-new section — Ethics, Morality and Values — to the test. This is the first time in SNAP’s history that an ethics-based section has been part of the exam structure.

Here is what has changed in SNAP 2026:

• The test now has four sections instead of three.
• The new Ethics, Morality and Values section has 10 questions worth 10 marks.
• The questions in General English and Analytical & Logical Reasoning have been adjusted to fit the new four-section structure within the same 60-question total.
• Negative marking of -0.25 marks applies to incorrect answers in all four sections, including Ethics.
• The exam duration stays at 60 minutes and the total marks remain 60.

If you are preparing using SNAP 2025 study material, update your plan to include the new Ethics, Morality and Values section. Ignoring it could cost you 10 marks — nearly 17% of the total score.

SNAP 2026 Eligibility Criteria

You must check all SNAP 2026 eligibility conditions before applying. If you do not meet the criteria, your application will be rejected at the time of document verification.

Academic Qualification

• You must hold a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university.
• The minimum aggregate score needed is 50% for General and OBC candidates.
• SC/ST candidates need a minimum of 45% aggregate in graduation.
• Final-year graduation students can apply. But you must submit your passing certificate by the deadline specified by the institute you get admission to.

Professional Qualifications

• Candidates with Chartered Accountancy (CA), Company Secretary (CS), or Cost and Works Accountants (ICWA) qualifications are also eligible, even without a regular graduation degree.

Age Limit

• There is no upper or lower age limit to appear for SNAP 2026. Working professionals can apply at any age.

Foreign University Graduates

• If you completed your graduation from a foreign university, you need an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) before applying.

Programme-Specific Requirements

• Some Symbiosis institute programmes may have additional eligibility conditions. For instance, certain specialised MBA tracks may require prior work experience or a background in a specific discipline. SNAP 2026 Application Process and Registration

SNAP 2026 registration is open from August 21 to November 25, 2026. You must apply at the official SNAP website. There are two parts to the application: registering for the SNAP test itself and separately applying to each Symbiosis institute programme you want to be considered for.

Step-by-Step SNAP 2026 Registration Process

• Step 1 – Create Your Account: Visit snaptest.org and register with your email ID and mobile number. You will receive a login ID and password.
• Step 2 – Fill the Application Form: Enter your personal, academic, and contact details. Upload a recent passport-size photograph and your signature in the prescribed format and size.
• Step 3 – Choose Test Slot(s): Select which SNAP test slot(s) you want to appear for — SNAP 01 (December 13), SNAP 02 (December 19), or SNAP 03 (December 26). You can register for more than one slot.
• Step 4 – Pay the SNAP Registration Fee: Pay INR 2,250 per test slot using credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI. The fee is non-refundable.
• Step 5 – Apply to Institute Programmes: After registering for the test, apply separately to each Symbiosis institute programme you are interested in. Each programme application has its own fee.

SNAP 2026 Syllabus

SNAP does not publish an exhaustive official syllabus. The test is broadly based on the topics below, drawn from past SNAP papers and the official exam pattern. The new Ethics section has no prior year reference, so that preparation requires a different approach.

General English

Ethics, Morality and Values (New)

Since the Ethics section is entirely new for 2026, SIU has not released a detailed topic list for it. The questions are expected to be scenario-based and situational in nature, not requiring textbook preparation. Practising Situational Judgement Tests (SJTs) available for management and civil services entrance exams is a good starting point.

SNAP 2026 Admit Card

SNAP 2026 admit cards are released online before each test slot. You must download yours from snaptest.org — it will not be sent by post or email. Carry it on the day of the exam along with a valid photo ID.

• Go to snaptest.org and log in using your registered email ID and password.
• Click on the admit card link for the relevant SNAP slot.
• Download the admit card and take a print.
• Check all details on the admit card — name, photo, test slot, venue, and date. Notify SIU immediately if any detail is wrong.

What to Carry on SNAP 2026 Exam Day

• Printed SNAP 2026 admit card (colour or black and white printout)
• A valid original photo ID — Aadhaar, PAN card, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving Licence
• A passport-size photograph (same as uploaded at registration)

Candidates without a valid admit card will not be allowed to enter the exam centre. Download your admit card as soon as it is released — do not wait for the last day.

Top Colleges Accepting SNAP Score

SNAP score is accepted exclusively by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) constituent institutes. There are 16 institutes under SIU offering MBA and related management programmes. Below are the major ones:

SIBM Pune and SCMHRD are the most competitive SNAP-accepting institutes. Both have strong alumni networks, campus placements, and national rankings. Getting into either typically requires scoring in the top 1.5 to 2% of all SNAP candidates — above 98 percentile for SIBM Pune.

For candidates targeting 90 to 95 percentile, SIIB Pune and SIBM Bangalore are strong options with respected programmes. Candidates in the 80 to 90 percentile range can consider SIOM Nashik and SCIT Pune for specialised MBAs in Operations Management and Information Technology.

SNAP 2026 Preparation Tips

With about two months left before the December 2026 exams, you need a focused, section-wise strategy. Here is how to approach each area:

General English

• Read one editorial or opinion piece from a national newspaper daily. This builds vocabulary and comprehension speed at the same time.
• Practice RC passages under time pressure. SNAP RC passages are shorter than CAT, so you need to read and answer quickly.
• Revise core grammar rules — subject-verb agreement, tenses, parallelism, and misplaced modifiers are commonly tested in SNAP.
• Build vocabulary using word-of-the-day apps or flashcard systems. Focus on words that appear in business and current affairs contexts.

Analytical and Logical Reasoning

• This section has 20 marks — joint highest with Quant. Treat it as a priority area.
• Practice seating arrangements, blood relations, directions, and syllogisms every day. These are the most common question types in SNAP Reasoning.
• Most SNAP reasoning questions are moderate in difficulty. Speed separates good scores from great ones — aim to solve each question in under 60 seconds.
• Take sectional mock tests every two to three days to track speed and accuracy trends.

Quantitative, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency

• Arithmetic — percentages, profit & loss, and time-speed-distance — has the highest share of questions in SNAP Quant. Start here.
• DI sets in SNAP are generally straightforward. Practice extracting and computing from tables, bar charts, and pie charts quickly without a calculator.
• For DS questions, practice identifying what information is sufficient without solving the full problem. This saves significant time in the exam.
• Aim for 16–17 correct attempts out of 20 in this section to be competitive at 95+ percentile.

Ethics, Morality and Values (New)

• This section is entirely new for 2026. Do not ignore it — 10 marks out of 60 is nearly 17% of your total score.
• Practise Situational Judgement Tests (SJTs) widely available online for management and civil services exams. These closely reflect what SNAP’s Ethics section is expected to test.
• Think about what an ethical, responsible professional would do in workplace and social scenarios. There is usually a clearly correct option — avoid over-thinking these questions.
• No official topic list exists for this section. Common sense, moral reasoning, and knowledge of basic business ethics principles are your main tools.

Overall Strategy

• Take at least one full-length SNAP mock test every week from now until the exam. Analyse each mock carefully — identify weak areas and address them the following week.
• SNAP is 60 minutes for 60 questions — one minute per question on average. Aim to attempt 52–55 questions with above 85% accuracy.
• Since SNAP has three slots, you can use SNAP 01 (December 13) as a real practice run and aim to improve in SNAP 02 and SNAP 03. Your best normalised score across all slots counts.
• Do not spend more than 90 seconds on any single question during the exam. Move on and come back if time allows.
