TS LAWCET Exam Pattern – Osmania University, Hyderabad has released the paper pattern for 3 year and 5 year LLB Programs. TS LAWCET 2018 will have objective type questions and will evaluate a candidate’s ability and aptitude to pursue Law as a career.

As per TS LAWCET Eligibility, Intermediate graduates can register for Integrated 5 year program, whereas, degree holders can apply online for 3 year program. The application form filling has now concluded, download TS LAWCET Admit Card from May 22. Detailed TS LAWCET Exam Pattern

Osmania University will hold the exam on behalf of TSCHE (Telangana State Council of Higher Education). There are three sections in the examination. They are as follows:

Part A: General Knowledge and Mental Ability

Part B: Current Affairs

Part C: Aptitude for the Study of Law

Mode of TS LAWCET Exam

The law entrance examination will be a Computer Based Test. It will test the following abilities of candidates:

  • Aptitude for Study of Law
  • General Knowledge and Mental Ability and
  • Current Affairs

TS LAWCET Exam Duration

Candidates are given 1 hour 30 minutes (90 minutes) to complete the state level law exam. It is mandatory for the applicants to complete the exam in given period of time as no extra time will be allotted in any situation. In case of PwD and SAP candidates, an extra 20 minutes will be allotted to complete the examination.

Note: No sectional time limit is allotted to the sections in the examination.

TS LAWCET Distribution of Questions

Telangana Law CET offers two programs. Both the papers have same sections but the difficulty level varies. Tabulated below is the section-wise distribution:

TS LAWCET Marking Scheme

TSCHE will release the official notification for the exam shortly. Until then candidates can check the marking scheme as per last year trends.

Each question in the online examination paper of TS LAWCET 2018 will carry 1 mark, leading to a total of 120 marks for the whole paper. There will be no negative marking for incorrect or non-attempted answers.

TS LAWCET Medium of Examination

Telangana Law Common Entrance Test will be administered in English and Telugu medium. Applicants can attempt the questions as per there preference.

Qualifying marks in TS LAWCET

Candidate is required to score a minimum of 35% marks for qualify entrance exam, which means that minimum passing marks are 42 out of 120. However, no minimum marks have to be attained by candidates belonging to SC/ ST category to qualify the law entrance exam.

Tie Breaker in TS LAWCET Exam:

In case of more than one candidate obtaining same marks, the following criteria will be followed:

  • Marks in Part C i.e. Aptitude for the Study of Law will be considered
  • In case the tie still continues, marks in Part B i.e. Current Affairs will be considered
  • If tie still persists, candidates with same marks will be grouped together for ranking purpose and at the time of admission, higher age might become the decisive factor.

TS LAWCET 2018 Syllabus

There is no official syllabus set for TS LAWCET 2018. The exam will have three parts and will evaluate candidates across various parameters.

Part A: General Knowledge and Mental Ability 

The section is divided into two subsections namely general knowledge and mental ability. General knowledge means Static knowledge/ facts that have happened before. It could be related to people/ places/ things etc.

Preparation Tip(s): To score better, read Lucent’s GK book or GK book by GK Pub. For Mental Ability, regularly practice logical and analytical questions related to verbal/non-verbal series, blood relationships, analytical reasoning, linear arrangements, etc.

Part B: Current Affairs

Answer questions that are formulated on the basis of ongoing news topics and current affairs. This implies that candidates must remain up-to-date with the significant and essential events and occurrences taking place across the world.

Preparation Tip(s): Regularly read newspapers and magazines.

Part C: Aptitude for the Study of Law

Candidates appearing for exam will be tested on the basis of their elementary knowledge regarding the basic principles of the Law and Constitution of India.

Preparation Tip(s): It is suggested to go through various elementary level Social Studies books.

Things to Remember

  • TS LAWCET Exam Date 2018 – May 25, 2018
  • Take your admit card and passport size photograph at the examination center.
  • Duration of Exam – 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Report at the examination center at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the exam.
  • Qualifyinf marks in TS LAWET is 35% (i.e. 42 marks out of total 120 marks). No minimum qualifying marks for SC and ST for ranking.
