TS LAWCET Cut off, Qualifying Marks, Merit List

TS LAWCET Cutoff will be declared after the release of results on June 10. Candidates who clear the cut off will be able to participate in the counselling procedure for admissions to colleges accepting TS LAWCET Scores. There are 21 law colleges offering LLB programs and 13 institutions admitting candidates for five-year integrated law programs.

For this year, TS LAWCET 2018 concluded on May 25 in online mode. Osmania University, Hyderabad has released the qualifying marks along with the official notification of TS LAWCET on behalf of TSCHE. As per the notification, candidates applying for 3-years and 5-years LLB program must score a minimum of 42 marks out of 120 marks to be eligible for the merit list. There are no criteria of minimum qualifying marks for SC/ST category students. Read on to know more about the cut off of TS LAWCET.

TS LAWCET Cut off: Previous Year Cut Off

TS LAWCET Cut off remains same every year, it is 35% marks in the entrance examination. However, the cut off for the participating institutes are the opening and closing rank of seat allotment at the counselling process. Given below is the opening and closing cut off score of top colleges:

TS LAWCET Cut off Analysis: As you can see from the table, that the cut off for the institutes are quite high as compared to the qualifying marks i.e. 42 marks. The lowest closing cut off is at 68 marks and highest goes at 120 out of 120. Therefore, we can assume that merely getting the qualifying marks is not enough to get a seat through TS LAWCET. Aspirants will need to do well and score more if they want to take admission in the top law colleges in Telangana.

LAWCET Cut off: How it is calculated?

TS LAWCET Cut off is the minimum score required to secure admission in LLB and Integrated LLB program offered by the participating colleges and Institutes situated in the state of Telangana.

TS LAWCET cut off is calculate keeping a lot of factors in mind such as:

  • The number of applicants
  • The number of seats available
  • The difficulty level of the entrance test
  • The number of candidates qualified
  • Previous year cut off marks

TS LAWCET cut off is prepared few days after the declaration of the results based on the candidates’ performance in the written test. Based on the cutoff TSCHE calls candidates for the counselling process. TSCHE also releases the cut off of the participating institute after the completion of the seat allotment process. 


TS LAWCET Cut Off: Merit List 

TS LAWCET Merit list will be released along with the cut off by TSCHE shortly after the announcement of result. Candidates have to score minimum 35% marks in the entrance test to be eligible to qualify for the counselling rounds and admission procedure. The merit list comprises names of only qualified candidates. Candidates who will score the highest mark in the examination will lead the rank list.

Candidates can check criteria in case of tie occurs:

  • A candidate who will score most in Part C i.e. Aptitude for the Study of Law will be given a higher rank in the merit list. 
  • In case the tie still continues, candidates' marks in Part B i.e. Current Affairs will be considered.
  • If the tie still fails to break, candidates will be grouped together for ranking purpose and at the time of admission candidates' age will be considered. Candidates older in age will get preference over the younger candidate.
