MAH CET 2020 Paper Analysis

    MAH CET 2020, which was conducted on March 14 & 15, 2020 in four slots brought many surprises to the test takers. The paper left the candidates astonished with many new types of questions. The MBA entrance examination was marked with lengthy questions and difficult to attempt logical reasoning section. Here we provide you with the analysis of both slots Slot 1 & Slot 2. Where Slot 1 was found to be moderately difficult in comparison to the previous year, Slot 2 maintained pace with Slot 1. Students did not find appropriate time to attempt all 200 questions.

    The Verbal Ability section maintained its mark by throwing questions that would test candidate’s grammatical accuracy to its peak. However, the Quantitative Aptitude section did provide some relief to the test takers. 

    Overall the exam difficulty level matched up to the last year. The expected cut off at top B-schools can reach upto 140+.

    The paper was peacefully conducted on both days at various exam centers despite slight disruptions due to technical glitches. However, all answers were automatically saved providing a hassle-free environment for students to attempt the paper.

    According to the student's reactions, difficulty level was higher in Logical Reasoning questions in comparison to the previous year. The questions in the section were time consuming, leaving the students baffled, hence, candidates had less time to attempt all questions.

    Apparently, students were given less than 1 minute to attempt each question pertaining to the difficulty level. Candidates had to choose one correct answer out of the 5 given options. Though candidates used short tricks to solve the problem, still they gasped for time. Thus, a major learning for students was time management.

    However, since there is no negative marking involved, 100% attempt was seen among students which, in a way, improved chances of scoring higher. 

    Many simpler questions were also asked in each section which helped students in maintaining a balance in their accurate attempts.

    Expected Cut Off for Top B-Schools

    The difficulty level of the paper has remained more or less the same in comparison to the previous year. All India candidates can expect a cut off of 140+ at premier B-schools like PUMBA, JBIMS, SIMSREE and K J Somaiya.

    MAH CET 2020 Result

    The result for the paper will be declared on March 31, 2020 on the official website of State Common Entrance Test Cell. It will be available in the form of a merit list. Candidates who have appeared for the examination will be able to download their scorecards from the official website.
