MAH CET Result 2018 Declared- Scorecard, Cutoff, Merit List

MAH CET 2018 Result has been declared by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra on March 19. Candidates can download MAH CET Scorecard by visiting the official website, using their registration ID and Date Of Birth. It will represent the percentile and All India Rank (AIR) secured by the candidate. MAH CET 2018 was successfully conducted on March 10 & 11.

DTE Maharashtra will begin CAP (Centralized Admission Process) from the second week of May to the first week of June 2018. CAP involves shortlisting of candidates on the basis of MAH CET cut off and allotting them seats in 440 Maharashtra B schools including JBIMS, SIMSREE, PUMBA and others.

Highlights of MAH CET 2018 Result

  • A whopping 106448 candidates registered for the exam.
  • 98606 (92.6%) candidates actually took the test.
  • There are 14 candidates who have scored 99.99 percentile in the score range of 165 to 149. No candidate scored a 100 percentile.

How to Check MAH CET 2018 Result?

Candidates can check their result through online mode. The scorecard will contain scores obtained by candidate in the entrance test and overall percentile. Steps to check MAH CET 2018 result are given below:

  2. Click on the link ‘MAH-MBA/MMS CET Result 2018’.
  3. Enter your registration number and date of birth (DD/MM/YY) to login to the results page.


  1. Click on ‘Submit’ button.
  2. Result will be displayed on your screen.
  3. Download and save MAH CET result and take a print out of the results page for future references.

Candidates can view the following details present in MAH CET results page when they enter their registration number and date of birth in the online results portal and click ’Submit’.

  • Date of MAH CET 2018
  • Name of the candidate
  • Date of birth
  • Registration number of candidate
  • Roll number
  • MAH CET score
  • MAH CET overall percentile

How is MAH CET Result Calculated?

Aspirants must know the marking scheme in order to decide how to attempt questions in the exam. No change is expected in exam pattern this year. Marking scheme of MAH CET is expected to be as follows:

  • 1 mark is awarded for marking every correct answer.
  • There is no penalty for wrong answers i.e. negative marking is not applicable.
  • No mark is deducted from the total score for leaving a question blank or not attempting it.
  • Marking of two options is considered as a wrong answer.
  • Scores obtained by candidates on the exam are equated to the base form by considering the distribution of scores of all the forms
  • The total score is reported with decimal points up to two digits.

MAH CET 2018 Merit List

Based on the scores obtained in MAH CET, candidates are assigned ranks and are shortlisted on the basis of this rank for admissions into the institutes. Thus, a merit list is prepared and candidates who feature in this merit list are eligible for completing admission process.

The merit list is declared in two stages.

Provisional Merit List

  • Provisional merit list is usually declared as soon MAH CET 2018 counselling ends.
  • This list does not confirm admission of candidates, they must wait for the final merit list to be declared.

Final Merit List

  • After due consideration of the results of DTE MBA counselling, final merit list is prepared.
  • Only candidates who are a part of this list are shortlisted for admissions to various colleges.
  • Merit list is based on the ranks obtained by candidates seeking admissions under Maharashtra State Seats, All India Seats and Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Seats.
  • In the event that two candidates have the same overall score and percentile, the priority sequence, while preparing the merit list is as given below.
  • This is the order of preference if in case candidates aspiring to get admissions under the Maharashtra State Seats category get the same score and percentile in MAH CET 2018:
  1. Candidate who has the higher percentage of marks in the 10+2 Board exam (any recognized HSC board exam) will be placed higher in MAH CET merit list.
  2. Percentage of marks obtained in class 10 Board exams (any recognized board) will be considered.
  3. Candidate having the higher percentage of marks in the tenth board exams will be given higher preference.
  4. Date of birth of candidates is taken into consideration, the older candidate is given preference.

  • Interestingly, DTE has not awarded a 100 percentile to any candidates in the past 4 years. There is only 1 candidate who has scored highest 145 marks out of maximum 200 marks in MAH CET 2017 exam. Last year, 99.99 percentile was awarded to the candidates who scored in the range of 151 to 165.
  • 11 candidates have been awarded the highest 99.99 percentile in MAH CET 2017 but the marks scored by them are much lower than that of candidates who scored the similar percentile last year.
  • There are 863 candidates who have scored above 99 percentile by scoring 107 and more marks out of 200 in MAH CET 2017 exam.

MAHCET 2017 Toppers

The result for MAH MBA CET 2017 was declared on March 10. Last year, 11 candidates struck the highest percentile of 99.99, who scored marks between 136-145. Interestingly, the highest score was lower than 2016. This meant that chances of admission to top colleges increased.

Expected MAH CET 2018 Cut Off

Cut Off plays an important role in determining whether or not, a candidate can get a seat in the desired institution. A knowledge of the previous years’ cut off will enable the candidate to plan the counselling in an informed and better way.

  • Highest percentile of 99.99 in MAH CET 2017 has been awarded to all 11 candidates who have scored marks between 136 to 145.
  • The highest score is lower than last year.
  • This has increased the admission chances in JBIMS, SIMSREE, K J Somaiya and other top MBA colleges at lower scores compared to last year scores.

MAH CET 2018 Counselling

  • MAH CET counselling is a web-based admission and seat allotment process.
  • CAP (Centralised Admission Process) is organised in multiple rounds, based on the number of seats remaining vacant at the end of each round.
  • Like last year, it is expected that 4 round of MAH CET counselling will be held this year too. The fourth round of MAH CET CAP 2018 is expected to be conducted only for the eligible Maharashtra state candidates.

MAH CET 2018 Counselling Registration Fee & Payment

  • Application fee is INR 1000 for GEN/ OBC category and INR 800 for candidates belong to SC/ ST category.
  • Registration fee to participate in MAH CET counselling 2018 can be paid in online mode only using Debit/Credit card or Net Banking.
